SOLVED. Book about a haunted house [s]

I am looking for a book about:

a boy who gets lost in a house which seems awesome and
the season changes every day

he befriends a girl and finds out it's not that beautiful at all, they try to escape but don't seem to get out because of an enchanted hedge which leads them back to the house

they don't get older as it seems.

When he finally escapes the days were actual years.

It then seems that the house is actual a living being that helds kids hostage.

I also remember a passage about the pond that looks beautiful but becomes bleak when you look into it.

I also remember that the writer normally writes adult horror and this was one exception writing a young adult story.

I read the book with my daughter about five years ago but it can be older.

Is this a teenage fiction book? It sounds very similar the Garth Nix series "The Keys to the Kingdom" starting with Mister Monday.
