KOMET I'm now deep into reading "A Snug Life Somewhere" by Jan Shapin. It's a story of the modern labor movement told by Penny Joe Copper (born in 1891) of the Pacific Northwest who lived through the tumultuous struggles of the labor unions from the World War I era to mid-century.

I want to read Delirium, how did you like it?

message 56: by Christina (new)

Christina Gizzi | 123 comments It was a little boring in the beginning, but I loved it.

I had forgotten how much I loved Cutting for Stone. The Round House is also excellent. The Big Crunch is a better than average YA romance.

I loved hunger games. The book is so good! Defiantly worth the read. But Matched on the other hand not so much I felt like the story had no major events and no real climax. I liked the characters but the plot was just blah.

I felt that MAtched was somewhat like the Delirium concept, have you read Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver yet?

I just finished a book for school myself. Why do professors make their students read terrible books?

I think they're trying to find "modern classics" so kids will understand. Personally, I think to be a classic something should stand the test of about a hundred years. But that's me.

I think that's pretty much the definition of a classic. Either way I'd rather read something that I liked and that didn't make me want to kill the main character.

I'm reading Every Day (Every Day #1) by David Levithan , so far so good. Also listening to Thirteenth Child (Frontier Magic, #1) by Patricia C. Wrede which is interesting, lots of world building.
