I'm so sorry guys, I didn't pick up my book from the library (ugh! like I THOUGHT I did!)

Don't know when anyone else is starting either :p Chances are I won't get to it until Saturday or Sunday, depending on when I finish Empire of Night, which I'm just halfway through and hope to finish tomorrow or Saturday. But I also have lots of study I have to do for my big exam on Monday.

I've started it, but I would read it really slow because I am reading three other books (I was hoping to finish two of them for now, but I do not have much time in this period, so I've started it but I would go really slow!)

I'm 14% through, up to Chapter 7, and I won't be finishing it for a few days. I'm going to have to pause this for a while so I have time to read The Young Elites, which is due back at the library in a few days. It'll be a push trying to get it done, but I'm going to try. So I'm holding off reading this one for a while.

Yeah, I agree, there is a HUGE cast of characters. I think if I read it quickly, I will be able to keep up!

Cleo(view spoiler)[ I feel bad for her but I also hope that she tries to do something. she just seems so wilting flower. Her sister sounds strong and it sounds like Cleo had a lot of the same opportunities, she just decided hanging out with friends and Aron and drinking win were funner. NOT a good choice for a princess (hide spoiler)]

Theon(view spoiler)[ meh. he's okay. I don't know why he'd fall for her. he seems already kind of smitten (hide spoiler)]

Next Kingdom:

Magnus(view spoiler)[ i'm not sure what to think of him yet
but obvious the sister is the stolen baby and NOT really his sister, right?
but his father is awful. and he's manipulative. (hide spoiler)]

Lucia(view spoiler)[ I can't help but think the hawk is possibly watching her instead of Cleo but I"m sure I'm wrong
but she seems to actually show signs of having magic where Cleo isn't yet.
I wonder what the secret is she's keeping.... (hide spoiler)]

by far(view spoiler)[ this is the oddest part. Is he falling for whichever girl he's watching? why does he care if she only ever sees him as a hawk? and why are they watching? wanting more elementia? why aren't they grabbing the chieftian guy? is he just a wizard? (hide spoiler)]

just started this book this morning, finished chapter 2 and im already not liking Cleo.(view spoiler)[ she could have prevent Jonas' brother death so many times, but she did nothing... and the way she look down on the others is a bit annoying as well (hide spoiler)] I'm just hoping that the other main characters are more likable. Thank goodness for other main characters.

Read all these, and I actually didn't think that it was that obvious that Lucia wasn't Magnus' real sister. Did wonder how that kind of intense love came about, but it's probably just my unobservant self not realising :p

And I thought it was just Lucia with the powers, and that that's who the hawk's watching.

Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[Ugh of course everyone's in love with the princess! Like legit! There's Theon and Nic who both seem sweet and genuine, and then there's Aron who's blackmailing her. So frustrating! (hide spoiler)]

Not liking this book much. There's like no character development because of all of the character-changing, and can't even remember all that's happening.

I'm up to Chapter 22 now. It's getting slightly better. Almost thought about DNFing it earlier, but I don't think I've ever done that, and the series has promise from other reviews, so I'm going to keep going.

Not sure how you can start a series and not finish it though, Ang. I have to finish what I start.

I agree with all of these, particularly Cleo's! Like WHAT!?!?! I just don't understand. Bleh. Glad this one's over. I didn't like it too much, but I will read the rest.

See, normally all the books I read I can't wait to finish, because I just have so many other books to read, but I still give majority 4 stars. This one wasn't good, but it wasn't bad.

I didn't like this one ...at all. I found it boring and predictable

I thought some characters were inconsistent (I'm looking at you Magnus. And the bit about the seeds - who doesn't open it??!)
Love stories that were just silly (Theon)
and little to no character development for Lucia and Cleo

ugh. I'm glad I'm done. I almost DNF'd it too.

I'm like at chapter 15, and I really don't feel like reading this anymore. It just takes too much effort to turn the pages.

Four main characters and none of them were likable enough to make me stay. I'm so sad.
