Lexi was pleasantly relieved when Eli did not get mad or resent her calling him her boyfriend. She relaxed considerably, enough to give a light laugh. "Yes. Usually. But I don't think we'll have that issue with Margaret." Lexi shook her head, smiling to herself. "She's an interesting character. To say the least." She sank down on the bed, and allowed herself to flop backwards so she was staring up at the ceiling. She stayed that way, just breathing in and out for a moment, before she turned to look at him. "What do we do now?" she asked softly. "Is this the... well... end?"

corina (molteneyes) Interesting character. That was one word for it. "Well, we haven't been consumed by roaring fire yet, so I'm pretty sure it's not the end, not yet." Though how much longer it would be before the real end, Eli had no idea. They were walking on a tightrope with flames on all sides - literally. Even here, Eli could smell the smoke lingering in the air, and if he glanced through the partly drawn curtains, he could see the ash floating gently - too gently for such a violent world. "As to what we do... We either fix this mess, or we give up and die." For Eli, though, there weren't two options. There was only one. He had created this mess, and he would set it right. Demons weren't supposed to swamp the earth like this. They may have been human once, but now they belonged in Hell. And Eli meant to put them back there, even if that meant going back with them and facing whatever torture they had in mind for this betrayer.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi shivered for some reason when he mentioned roaring fire. That didn't sound inviting at all. And even though she really hated the world, she was starting to realize that she loved it more than she had ever known. She didn't want it to end. Not today. He gave her their options and Lexi grimaced. Give up. Well. That sounded awfully easy to do right now. Just to give up, lie down, and let it happen. But it was also a very selfish, cold thing to do, seeing as that she was the one who had opened the gates. She sighed heavily. "I have to fix it. I opened the gates." She said softly, looking up at him, worry and hope mixed together in her blue eyes. "How do I fix this? What do I do?" She was willing to whatever it took to right her mistake. It was her fault after all, and she felt responsible.

corina (molteneyes) "It wasn't your fault, Lexi," Eli replied to the look on her face and her words. They resonated with guilt and self-blame, and if anyone was truly at fault, it was him. If he hadn't put her there, the gates wouldn't have opened. Few people could stand up to torture. But no one truly forced Eli to kill Lexi.

"We close the gates of Hell. There's no way we can kill all the demons, so somehow... We have to close the gates again." Eli knew that the gates had first been closed by angels, so how could a human and a renegade demon hope to close the gates where before it had taken a legion of angels?

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi bit her lip and closed her eyes, shaking here head. "But it is!" She said softly. "I let them up here. It's my fault that demons are tearing apart the world." Her voice grew in volume a little. "It's my fault that families are dying. For all I know, my parents are probably already dead." She choked out, shaking her head. Her shoulders slumped a little beneath the weight of that realization. "I'll close the gates of hell." She said, determined. "Send me back down there and I'll do it." She promised. She was prepared to go back down into that nightmare, to save the fate of the world she grew up in.

message 257: by corina (new)

corina (molteneyes) Nope! We're done. I have a lot on my plate, and no time to keep up with another rp. :)
