I don't really remember much about the book. My sister read it to me when i was younger and we just remembered about it now. The most i can remember is that a little girl's mother goes missing. there's a little boy who tries to help her solve the mystery. But the only thing the girl knows is that her mother just got up in the middle of the night and walked into the woods barefoot.

Approximately what year was it that your sister read it to you?
Was this a picture book or chapter book? And do you remember if it was a fantasy or a more realistic story?Also, if you can remember *any* other details, that'd really help others find it (like any of the characters' names, what happened to the mother, what country/time period it's set in, etc.)
It was a chapter book. You know when you can't remember anything expect one part of it. That's pretty much all i know. I want to say they were country people, probably down south. but that could be just an interpretation. I'm pretty sure it was her mother. I think the little boy was homeless or maybe lived next to her. Pretty sure he was homeless though.

Yay! I'm glad you could find it. I read it a long time ago, but I'm not sure I remember it so well, haha.
Yeah i didn't know that much about it. My sister would read it to me until i fell asleep and the next day she would be on the next chapter. So it's no shock that all i could remember was the fact that the mother got up in the middle of the night and walked into the woods barefoot, never to be seen again.
I'm just so glad i finally found it! I'll finally be able to read it again, and know how it ended! Thank you so much again! I would not have been able to find it without you! :) <3
