liz,
every one of the archer books ends with a cliff hanger, making you want to read the next one fairly quickly.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9538 comments I never get that much reading done on my vacations! I'm going to have to do better. Next up, Turks and Caicos in June. Can't wait!

Good selection, Sherry. You always seem to get to the good ones before I do! Looking forward to hearing your view on Missing You and The Girl with....

i bet you can't wait for turks and caicos!
i liked Girl, but thought that there were a few too many TSTL moments in it- and it seemed like anything (bad) that could happen did. story kept me interested though and like barry said, i'm glad we heard him talk about the time changes, otherwise it would have been confusing.
really enjoyed missing you, too- although you know my memory - once i read something, poof! it's gone..lol

Sherry | 4558 comments Amy wrote: "Sherry, how did you like Safe House?"

i thought it was ok- there were a lot of references to something that had happened "before" that made me wonder if there was another book about what happened. didn't ruin the story for me, though

I think the book before this one is No time to say goodbye.

ahh. that explains it. i didn't read that one. i won a copy of safe house from good reads and didn't realize there was a "prequel".

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9538 comments I agree, I wanted to slap George several times throughout the novel. It was a little slow at parts, and I found the jumping back and forth confusing because I put the book down a fair amount, but once I got going I enjoyed it. I'm getting "love/hate" reactions on the ending, which I happened to like. It seemed appropriate for what went before. I told Peter it was a kind of Shutter Island ending, which is probably extreme, but I do think you either love it or hate it.
