I'm going to have to pause starting this for a while so I have time to read The Young Elites, which is due back at the library in a few days. but isn't the fact that she's alive - isn't that bad for his people? wasn't the beginning a rhyme that talked about the fact that there had to be blood shed or someone would seek revenge or something?

I agree with Ang, this book is very easy to read and I don't want to put it down (even though I'd planned to stop here! LOL)

Khalid(view spoiler)[ wow, how easy it is to like him now that I know a little more. He's going mad? I knew it would stop the rain, if he didn't kill...but he will go mad
and he's chancing that just to be with her.
I love how, when he came to her room, he asked her before he just took... (hide spoiler)]

Shazi(view spoiler)[ I think most surprising is her falling for him. I wasn't sure she would still be capable of love, she was so angry and hateful when she first arrived

Shiva is dead (killed by Caliph) and was Shazi's best friend
Tariq is Shazi's love
Caliph is like the prince or king

Oh, and if it helps, in the back of the book should be a glossary to help with some of the words :)
