Dialogue in Tuck Everlasting

Jordana Schwartz In the book, Tuck Everlasting, Natalie Babbitt is very smart with her writing. For example, when Winnie and Jesse were climbing up to the "Eiffel Tower", Winnie asked Jesse how old he was. Jesse answered by saying he was 104. When the reader reads this part he/she develops questions on why he would say that. Since Natalie Babbitt did this, it makes the reader read on so he/she could answer his/her questions. Any thoughts?
