Lena Lynae | 3 comments When did I read it: About 10 years ago.
Genre: fiction, possibly psychological
Summary: I remember it being about a boy who possibly moved somewhere new and he met a girl. They're about middle school aged, I don't think high school but could be. The girl turns out to be a bit quirky? insane? I can't remember just how mean she was, but I do remember her causing lots of problems. The boy also turns out to be on a chess team and I think she possibly is too. She causes lot of conflicts but no one believes the boy and only believes her. I believe some other members of the chess team do know about her issues, but they never do anything just lets her boss them around. It eventually gets out of control and they put a stop to her antics. I really wish I could remember more. The last thing I remember is the Queen's Gambit is VERY important to the plot line. It's how they get rid of her I believe, by applying it to a real life situation. I think it was even her favorite move in chess. It's a book that is available to children so I don't think it was TOO dark, just slightly.

You said it's nonfiction but you mentioned it has a plot line - do you think it might be fiction then?
