Emma has got some SERIOUS issues, I liked Jonathan v much actually he just wanted to help Emma but feelings got in the way.
Evan was lovely as usual and Emma just tramped all over his heart by not trusting him enough with her past.
Why she felt that she had to keep everyone else's secrets and try to fix everyone is a mystery, perhaps because she is 'broken' she feels that she has to fix everyone else.
I'm the same though, will read book 3 but not in a massive rush to read it immediately. (hide spoiler)]

I also feel like the author NEVER truly explained the root of Carol's hatred.

Another question: Why did the lawyer wait until now? Why didn't he come after Emma was in the hospital because he could have helped her to fill for emancipation and obviously she had enough money that she could have gotten her own place. She didn't have to live with Sarah or her mom with the amount of money she has

His timing was weird to me.

Jonathan needs absolution and he was opening up to her because he cared about her. That's more than Emma ever gave Evan. I hope the author finds help for Jonathan because he is redeemable. He is worth redeeming.

Why did Emma's mom come to her games when she lived with Carol? What was she after because she didn't really want Emma's love? What did she really want? I don't buy that I don't want to be alone BS. I don't like how the author dealt with that either.

Also, George never asked for forgiveness or contacted Emma or said what he knew or didn't know...

And yes why didn't George contact her, maybe the pictures from the children was his way of saying sorry.
She just didn't want to help herself, it was all woe is me and nobody can help me but she didn't give anyone the chance to help her, and I really liked Jonathan too.

Cole is just teaching her to surf, they are going to get together eventually in this chapter, Cole is going to fall in love with her, Evan will show up sometime and Cole is going to be thrown to the wolves heartbroken! The end lol
