In the story Flora and Ulysses the main character Flora is a cynic and her mom sometimes uses nasty dialogue back to her throughout the story. Furthermore since the mother always wants to kill the squirrel Floras best friend who she believes is a super hero. The mother always wants to get rid of the squirrel and makes nasty comments about it throughout the coarse of the story.
