I wanted to join this group because i love books and gilmore girls! I started watching it because i knew it was a really famous tv show in America and since it was on Netflix i decided to give it a try and boy do i love this show!!!
I am not as fast a reader as i hoped i would be but I'm thrilled to give this challenge a go :)
Hi everyone! My name's Claudia, I'm 18 and I'm from Spain. I'm a first year medical student living in Madrid by myself for the first time in my life and it's being hectic whilst amazing.
Ever since I was very young I've always loved to read. I'm the kind of person who gets so absorbed with a book it's like everything else ceases to exist. My mother and I have always been super close, as we have lived together for the biggest part of my life since my parents divorced, and Gilmore Girls is and will forever be our favorite TV series.
Ever since I first watched it, back in 2010 when I was just nine, I have always looked up to Rory so much, and somehow have found a part of her in me. I know it may sound a bit crazy, but in difficult times or moments in which I have to make important decisions, I tend to ask myself: what would Rory do? Her character really means so much to me.
I'm so excited to find that many other people share my passion for Gilmore Girls and reading, and I can't wait to get to know you all! :)
PS: I'm team Jess 4 life.

my name is Sonja from Germany! I am excited to join this group! Let the reading begin :)

my name's Haley and i'm from Canada. Although I wasn't born when GG first aired, I've seen every episode and I love it all the same! One of the things that I remembered loving were all of the allusions to various works of literature. The only problem was that I had pretty much no idea what was being referenced. Joining this group is my first step towards changing that, and I hope that I can enjoy myself and make some connections along the way :)

My name is Mahima and I am from India. I loved loved loved watching Gilmore Girls since my teens years. And I re-watch it every year. I always wanted to be a book club of Rory and I finally found one. Thank god! I can't wait for my challenges and my book reading (as half as Rory's) begin.

I'm Violaine from France. I really love reading books especially thrillers and classics. I started watching Gilmore Girls when I was younger and I rewatch it a lot when I feel unmotivated aha.
I really love Lorelai, I wish I could be as strong as she is and as funny as she is. I love Rory too, she kind of motivates me to study harder and to read more and I guess I wish I lived in some small town like Stars Hallow.
( And I ship Jess with Rory!)
so yeah this is my introduction to the group :)
(sorry if I made any mistakes)

I’m Michaela originally from Palmdale, California but now living in Basel, Switzerland.
I am very excited to join this group and be an avid reader again, I miss reading and I need to make more time for it. I studied English at University and love libraries, pop tarts and coffee! My favorite book is The Things They Carried! My favorite since high school, and I go back to it often.
Confession: I haven’t seen all the episodes of GG and am hoping to watch that as I go through the reading list. But, so far my favorite episode is the one where we meet Jess!
Excited to start reading,
Michaela

I am Sowjanya from India!
I love Gilmore Girls and can't wait to start reading from Rory's list!
Hi!
I'm lici (or Alicia), 18 and from Germany! Nice to meet y'all!
I started watching Gilmore Girls alone and then my mother joined. I love how many books Rory has read :)

Long time viewer, first time reader (of this particular list). I'm excited to start on this journey with all of you!
- Hannah

And my favorite episode is Rory's Birthday Parties. <3 I love the contrast between the two worlds and the shift of Emily and Lorelai's relationship.

I‘m Chiara from Switzerland! I love Gilmore Girls, I‘m currently watching it again and I started wondering about the books Rory reads because I myself love reading very much. When I googled the books I didn‘t even know about this reading challenge, so I‘m really excited that I found this group :)
My favourite thing about the Gilmore Girls is their relationship, their ability to talk that fast and witty and their addiction to coffee (I‘m also a huge coffee fan). I love the episodes in which Rory gets to know Jess and they both starting to like each other (yes, I‘m a bit of a sucker for love stories and a big fan of Jess ;))
I‘m happy to start reading these books and I‘m glad to do it with you guys!

My name is Lúa i'm 21 as of 2020 and i'm from Barcelona, Spain.
I saw Gilmorge Girls for the first time when I was youger, i think the box set had just came out and a friend of my mother's led it to us to watch. I always liked to read and when i saw Rory on my little TV and how she read i was astonished, i found my habit reader spirit animal.
My favorite character is Lorelai, i love to watch tv and bullet journaling and I work as an administrative/secretary.
Hi everyone!
My name is Blair and I’m a new member here. I watched a few seasons when Gilmore Girls first aired and I recently started rewatching them on Netflix. I was excited to see Rory’s reading list online and thought it would be a fun challenge to try reading all of the books listed. This list led me to Goodreads which eventually led me to this group! One of my favorite books growing up was Flowers for Algernon and I’m looking forward to reading it again. As far as favorite character on the show, I love them all, but I find Michel especially funny.

Hello everyone! So happy to see everyone new!! Hopefully we are all ready to move on from "The Year That Shall Not Be Named" and into 2021! Happy Reading this year! Let's get some more of the list read!

This year I've decided to join the reading challenge (despite being a member of this groups since when I started using goodreads back in the summer). My name is Karolina, I live in Uppsala, Sweden, and I haven't rewatched the series for sometime (last time was 2015 I think, and only up until season 5) - except of course for A Year in the Life (which I felt was strangely outdated in many aspects).
Nevertheless, the impact of Rory (and Lorelei) Gilmore on my life cannot be underestimated - the show has often been my study inspiration throughout my uni years and I will never not cry when watching Rory's valedictorian speech. :') With that said - looking forward to reading Franny & Zooey this month!
Thanks to all involved for having this group and keeping it updated. :)

I'm from Asunción, Paraguay and I'm very excited to join this group. Especially since you're reading A Tale of Two Cities which I bought a long time ago bet never read, but I guess now I will!
I've always heard of Gilmore Girls but did not watch it until 2018 and I am currently re-watching it.
Every time I start slacking at my university I watch an episode to get back on track- Rory has been a huge inspiration for me! 🧡

¡Espero no haber llegado muy tarde!
Con amor,
Noa

I used to have their coffee drinking abilities but I'm too old now :)
I have read much less in the recent couple of years than I would've liked, so I'm excited to join the group.

My name is Stefanie and I live in a small town in Austria.
I love learning new languages and reading books. English was my favourite subject at school, which is why I enjoy reading books written in English and watch shows like GG. What I love about GG, is, that you can always go back, watch a couple of episodes (or binge a couple of seasons 😅😇) and it just never gets old. At least in my book.
I have read some of the books on Rory‘s list, but I had not heard about this challenge until today. I’m eager to give it a shot. ☺️

I just found this group from a friend in another Goodreads group. Misbah had mentioned a Gilmore Girls reading list but I didn't know that there was a group reading the list of books. Actually my friend gave me a beautiful copy of A Tale of Two Cities and that is one of the books being read in this group.
Look forward to finding new friends who love books!

I'm Suzie and I'm from Quebec. I'm a fan of Gilmore Girls since I'm a teenager, and when the series was dubbed in French for the first time, I was the same age as Rory. I love reading - of course - writing, music, watching sitcoms.

I'm Christina from Mumbai, India.
I'm late to the party and I only discovered Gilmore Girls late last year, but binge watched the entire thing and it's become my new obsession.
So glad to have discovered this group...It helps fill in a void of sorts that the end of the series left :)
Looking forward to discovering great books and people in this community!

Having just finished the Gilmore Girls series (not the Netflix bonus just yet) I've decided to embark upon this ridiculously difficult challenge. I'm hoping that showing my kids I still love to read after our family reading hours have disappeared, will rekindle their love of the written word as well.

I watched Gilmore Girls with my mom on Netflix once and now I rewatch the show at least once a year! I've been on a journey to read more classics this year so I'm very excited to join this challenge!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to take this challenge. As Gill, I also did the buzzfeed quiz and this is my result:
You checked 44 out of 339 on this list!
81 %
You checked more than 81% of quiztakers.
I think there are some books there that need re-reading, so my plan is to read them all.... in the long run.
Nice to meet you all.
