Kate O'Driscoll | 1 comments My name is Kate, I'm a student from Dublin, Ireland. I love Gilmore Girls, but I am only watching it for the first time now since it has been released on Netflix, as I was too young to watch it when it was first released. I envy Rory Gilmore's knowledge of books, and the range of genres she's read, so I can't wait to catch up. I am definitely Team Jess.

message 102: by Linda (new)

Linda My name is Linda, i'm 25 years old and live in the Netherlands. I love to read, and read all kinds of genres because i like the variety. I started watching Gilmore Girls end of august, and now I only have 5 episodes left. I think the grandparents are hilarious!

message 103: by Julie (new)

Julie (juliefrancis) Hi! I'm Julie. I'm really excited for the Gilmore Girls mini series coming up and Lauren Graham's new book!

message 104: by Steffi (new)

Steffi (readingsteffi) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Steffi. I'm a PhD student in book studies from Mainz, Germany. I love books, music and Gilmore Girls. I've been watching GG since 2005 first on TV, then on DVD and now on Netflix (season 5). I'm team Jess. So one of my favorite episodes is the one with the dance marathon.

message 105: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 1 comments Good morning! I am Cassandra, residing in San Marcos, Texas. I'm about to be 30 (on Sunday) and I started watching Gilmore Girls when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I have always loved watching the show and am excited for the new Netflix show of their return. I have been trying to do the Rory Challenge for a while now, but have no one to hold me accountable. I am a full time college student with one semester left and I work practically full time. I'm also single and about to be a teacher. I have read several on the list so I'm ready to continue on the journey.

message 106: by Caridad (new)

Caridad | 1 comments Hey Guys, I am Cari. I just started watching the Gilmore Girls and find Rory fascinating. So this challenge should be interesting:-)

message 107: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments Hi everyone

I'm Sarah from England, I love Gilmore Girls and feel like I grew up with Rory and Lorelai. My mum found out about me at 17, her parents disapproved and we went it alone just like the Gilmore Girls. The show was a religion for us

message 108: by Kim. E. (new)

Kim. E. Hi fellow Gilmore Girls fans! I'm Kim É. from Indiana and happy to find out there's a group that covers all those books Rory read throughout the series (as well as any that come up in this new reincarnation we're all so excited about). I'm afraid I took the challenge listed on here somewhere yesterday and didn't do well, so there's room for much improvement over time.

message 109: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (mrskturner) Hi everyone :) I am reading through the Rory Gilmore Book List with an exchange student we hosted four years ago....she is in college now and this is such an awesome way for us to stay connected. I am thrilled to find this group on here and can't wait to share it with her as well! I am a homeschool mom of 3, currently stationed in Japan, and an avid book collector ( especially children's literature and historical fiction).

message 110: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello everyone! My name is Amy is I'm from South Louisiana. I'm super excited to be here.

I recently started a rewatch of the original Gilmore Girls in preparation for watching the new Netflix reunion and then stumbled upon a Rory Gilmore reading list on Listopedia and thought it would be neat challenge to take on going into 2017. I've seen a couple of other groups like this one on Goodreads, but they don't seem to keep their current reads updated that often. I'm excited to jump in and join the discussions here!

message 111: by Claire (new)

Claire | 6 comments Hi all,

I'm Claire from Belgium. Very happy to join this list. I've been reading a lot my whole life. I even forgot sometimes I read certain books. I'm a former teacher latin/greek (among other things) so I might help with the leader task if I get used to the group. Looking forward to read with you all!
( in advance: i hope I can keep up with the speed as a lot of works haven't been translated in dutch, so the reading in english slowes my speed down)

message 112: by Celia (new)

Celia (lapizvino) Hi! I'm Celia, but everyone calls me Cely!(Seh-lee)

Currently, I'm watching: Gilmore Girls and Supernatural. Love the wit and humor, not to mention female empowerment in Gilmore Girls(also, it makes me want to read the heck out of books!-hence goodreads) and Supernatural, well...what can I say? The brothers are yummy! Plus, angels & demons...it's awesome. #TeamCastiel<33

Anyway, I hope to expand my knowledge by reading, make some friends along the way and, as a result, expand my world. Happy reading!

message 113: by Nicole (last edited Dec 14, 2016 04:22AM) (new)

Nicole Hi, my name is Nicole. I'm a 19 year old girl from the Netherlands. This summer I started watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix and I just fell in love with the show. I always get a cozy feeling when I watched it. When I grew up I loved books. When I started highschool the book reading sort of faded away. I tried to read books, but tv shows sort of won my time. This summer I wanted to make a change and I decided I want to read more and also I want to improve my English reading. So I decided to start this challenge! I've read a few books from this challenge. I find English literature fascinating. So I'm really exciting for this challenge and hope to learn more and make some friends along the way!

message 114: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey! Thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself. I'm Layn, I'm 19 (about to turn 20 though). I'm a New Zealander currently living in Sydney, Australia. I grew up watching Gilmore Girls in a rather splattered fashion-- if I was around when my older young adult sisters were watching it, then so was I. I never really got to watch every episode in consequential order but I've embarked on that mission myself as of late since the birth of my niece. Her mother and I would look after her as a newborn and spend majority of that time watching Gilmore Girls episodes, and since then I've really wanted to catch up on any episodes I've likely to missed out on. I know the characters well enough, watched the great majority of episodes, but would love to get to know any and all in between! I also made the goal of reading more books especially upon the new year, and am so glad that I've found this group to share my love of reading and Gilmore Girls with. Excited to get started.

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello, my name is Masha and I like to read, draw and learn languages. I started watching Gilmore Girls when I was a kid and stopped when Jess appeared because I did not like him :D I continued or it is better to say restarted to watch the series last year because someone mentioned Rory and as I discovered Jess was much better than all the other Rory's boyfriends, even Dean, my childhood crush (sorry Dean fans) :)
My favorite books are: Der Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse, Martin Eden by Jack London and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. :3

message 116: by Dianne (new)

Dianne | 2 comments Hi my name is Dianne. I am a student in Groningen, the Netherlands. I watched GG when it was casted on television here, but recently started watching all the episodes again. I love reading (obviously) and want to get started on reading all the books thats are mentioned in the series. This is my first book challenge so im curious to see how it works out! :)

message 117: by Mary (new)

Mary Bronson | 2 comments Hello everyone! My name is Mary and I am from Johnson City Tenn and I am currently a grad student at ETSU in Johnson City. I started watching Gilmore Girls a few years ago since one of my sisters loves to watch it. I loved it and I also love the new ones too! I thought doing the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge was something I wanted to do. I find it interesting.

message 118: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Poland | 2 comments Hi, hey hey ! I'm new to Goodreads, so I have just been wandering around the website trying to gain my bearings. I had a faint hope that maybe there were other GG-obsessed people out there trying to read all the books--and I was right! I am very much looking forward to this group.

message 119: by Rantheworld (new)

Rantheworld | 2 comments Hi everyone! I'm from Michigan and am a junior in college currently on internship in Tennessee! I started binge watching Gilmore Girls a few months ago so that I could watch the revival, and it became my favorite show ever! I've always loved to read so I think the Rory Gilmore reading challenge will be a fun way to combine both. Looking forward to being part of this group :)

message 120: by Jeanettecatherine (new)

Jeanettecatherine Hello everyone :) My name is Žaneta and I'm from Czech republic. I'm a law student. I have been watching GG for a while and I absolutely fell for it! I think It will by fun and interesting trying to accomplish this reading challenge. I'm looking forward to read as much as I can! :)

message 121: by Jaymie (new)

Jaymie (to_booksandbeyond) | 4 comments Hi, everyone!

I'm Jaymie and I just started this challenge after considering it for what feels like forever. I just graduated college and I'm now at a place in my life that I have a set schedule which will allow me more reading time! Woohoo!

I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan and can't wait to get started on this challenge. I have a feeling this is going to open me up to so many different books that I never really expected to read before now.

Looking forward to all the discussions!

message 122: by Eva (new)

Eva Coghlan | 1 comments Hi, my name is Eva. I'm from South Africa and work as a pre-school teacher. I'm married with 3 dogs.
I have just finished watching the ENTIRE original series in a month of binge watching just so I could watch the revival. Late last year I decided to attempt the Rory Gilmore book list but didn't get very far. I'm hoping that by being apart of a group I will be able to stay on track :)
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and chatting about 2 of my loves in lives, Gilmore Girls and books ❤️

message 123: by Nikole (new)

Nikole Campbell (nacampbell) | 0 comments Hi! I'm Nikki. I am a California transplant to Missouri. I'm a history major with a background in photography. I am a genealogist as well. I have a Yorkie named Aggie. Besides being outdoors hiking or at the gym reading is my passion. My mother and grandmother thought me at an early age and I have always excelled at it. I'm excited to be part of a great challenge and to experience books I probably never would have looked twice at.

message 124: by Claudio (last edited Jan 04, 2017 10:27AM) (new)

Claudio (flamewing23) | 14 comments Hi, I'm Claudio from Italy, 20. I always loved to read when i was younger, but actually re-started to read only 3 years ago, even if 2016 was a really strange year for me and i didn't read really much. Other than books, i follow a lot of tvshow and started recently to read some "important" comics. Oh, i'm also a translator (English--> Italian) for a "famous" fansubbing site here in Italy, for tvshow. I've started to see Gilmore Girls on Netflix one month ago, I love it, just trying not to see too much in one day cause i'm worried to finish it too quickly :( I'm at episode 4x07 right now. I am a little in love with Rory (probably i'm in love with almost all the characters of the show :P), Gilmore Girls really encouraged me to start reading more classics, I think it's great cause i was a little stuck with the fantasy genre.

message 125: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Taylor (lizbeth63) | 1 comments Hey all!
I'm Elizabeth from Massachusetts. I'm currently a grad student and started watching Gilmore Girls for the first time this past year as a way to relax from school work. I loved it! I'm looking forward to being a part of this group as I was really inspired by Rory's ambitious reading through the series. Excited to have some sort of guide and camaraderie in reading some awesome books!

Welcome Nicole and Cely!! The combination of humor and message was always what got me about GG as well! That and the mother/daughter relationship they have! I hope you both will find great reads on here and make friends along the way! It took me a while, but I'm making some great ones on here after I made up my mind to reach out. Enjoy!

Nice to meet you both, Amy and Kirsten! Kirsten, sharing the books with someone else is what brought me here, so I hope she joins along too. Afraid you have a jump on me, but that's ok.

Amy, I used to come to your region every other year to visit family. Hoping to come again in the next few years. Hope you enjoy being part of this group!

message 136: by Elly (new)

Elly Layton | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Elly, and I'm a medical student from Melbourne, Australia. I've only recently started watching Gilmore Girls for the FIRST TIME (don't know how it took me this long)! I just watched the Valedictorian speech and needless to say I was both emotional and inspired. This group looks like a fun way to read classics and prolong my new love of Gilmore Girls.

message 137: by Haley (new)

Haley | 1 comments Hi,

I'm Haley. I absolutely love Rory Gilmore's passion for reading. I want to embark on this journey with other fan's by reading as much as possible and gaining as much knowledge as possible.

message 138: by Taylor (new)

Taylor Hi everybody! I'm Taylor and I love Gilmore Girls (and Rory Gilmore despite how problematic she can be). I'm excited to start reading with everyone and feel more connected to other fans

message 139: by Ramona (new)

Ramona (monakersch) | 4 comments Hi!

My name is Ramona and I am from Austria. I am currently trying to decide on what and where to study. Meanwhile, I'm working as a translator (German-English) and learning sign language.

I absolutely love Gilmore Girls - I've been watching this series over and over again since I first discovered it about ten years ago. Growing up, I could always relate to Rory, seeing as I was raised by a single mother, loved to read and wasn't a very social person (I'm talking about extreme shyness here.. xD).

I'm really looking forward to this challenge!

Yay for translators! *high-five*

I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the show ;)

message 141: by Rosa (new)

Rosa | 42 comments My name is Rosa and I am from Indiana. I am the mother to 3 year old twin girls and have been having a hard time finding time to read lately (at least non children's books), trying to get back into it. Most of the books I have read have been young adult type books, but now that I am nearing 30, I am trying to branch out more and start reading some of the classics. I started watching Gilmore Girls a few months ago and I love any episode with Jess in it. I'm excited to start on this reading challenge.

message 142: by Abby (new)

Abby Swanson | 4 comments Hi guys, I'm Abby from the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I'm a sophomore in high school, and I started watching GG about a month ago when my friend Meghan told me about it. I love books, and I've only read about 10 on the list, most of which we read in school. I'm super excited to finish all of the books by the time I graduate from high school, which is in 2.5 years.

message 143: by Maria (new)

Maria Proudley (marizzamaloo) Hello everyone. I'm Maria from the UK and love both books and Gilmore Girls so this is pretty much the perfect reading group for me!

message 146: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (readinglowry9613) | 10 comments Hi I am crystal and I am from Castle Rock, Colorado! I watched the Gilmore Girls here and there growing up but not religiously. I recently watched a year in the life and decided to start watching the whole thing over again! I am on the final season and so sad to already know Logan and Rory don't end up together :(
I love to read and decided to join this club to open up my reading genre world ( I guess you could say)! Working on the Great Gatsby now so that I can be on track with the next book!
Nice to meet all of you!

message 147: by Frau Spätzle (new)

Frau Spätzle (soenne) Hey everyone,
I'm Sönne and I'm from the south of Germany. I only discovered Gilmore Girls some months ago - and I keep on wondering what took me so long! Other than catching up on what seems to be the greatest TV series of all times, I love to read, cook, travel and write.
Looking forward to discussing all these books with you! :)

Simant Verma (allthatissim) | 7 comments Hi everyone,

message 149: by Franzi (new)

Franzi | 2 comments Hi everyone! My name is Franzi and I'm a book-obsessed literature and history student from Germany. My favorite GG episode is basicly every episode in which Rory is in Yale.
I don't really have a favorite book. I love nearly everything from Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Max Frisch.
I'm really looking forward to do the challenge and to learn more about the group and you guys.
(Sorry for my ,,not so perfect" english!)
