Normally that would be on the group page, where you can see: Currently reading: "Tender is the Night".But since our moderator Laura seems to be busy, you have to look in the discussion section. For May it's "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller. You can nominate books for June in the Thread "June 2016 Suggestions". :)
Hi! My name is Emily. I love Gilmore Girls and I am #teamlogan forever! I live in Oklahoma and I love music, writing, reading and running.
Hello all, I'm Jill, currently living in Canada. I've traveled a quite a bit and reading is a great way to pass the time in airports and planes, trains and buses.
Hi everyone! My name is Chelsey. I'm from Sacramento, CA. I'm pretty excited to start reading with everyone on the next book! I'm obsessed with Gilmore Girls and thanks to Netflix I can watch it over and over again!
Hey everyone! I hope I'm not too late to the party. My name is Kelly and I'm from Miami, FL. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan, partly because I love to see a show appreciate books so much, and seeing people talk as fast as me. My favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls are A-Tisket A-Tasket, There's The Rub, Teach Me Tonight, and Lorelai's Graduation. To name a few lol there are so many amazing episodes! Jess is probably my favorite character and Dean is probably my least favorite. I cannot wait for the new season! And I am really excited to find this group :)
Hello fellow readers! I'm Kathryn and I live in Melbourne Australia. I am LATE to the party only having started watching Gilmore Girls for real this year. I'd seen bits on TV but I always had other commitments when it was on and never manged to watch it. My sister owns the box set and was telling me about the new episodes so we have been spending an evening watching catching up on the show! That was when I found the reading challenge! So excited, there are a few books on the list I have read but not many at all so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in! I'm reading The Bell Jar first and am thrilled to have found this group.
Hi I'm Harriet from the UK. I am a midwife. I love playing lacrosse and reading. And my guilty pleasure is re-watching Gilmore girls over and over (much to my boyfriends annoyance). Xx
Hey- I've been part of this group for aaages, but never really got round to introducing myself. Oops. :D My name is Lily, I'm 16 years old and live in Germany. I love reading, acting, writing, social sciences, youtube and bingewatching bad tv shows. Not that Gilmore Girls is bad, I love it with all my heart but I also love to hate Lorelai and Rory and all their terrible boyfriends/fiancees/hubbies.
I discovered the show a few years ago when my mum got me the boxset for Christmas and her, me and my sister got really into the show. We're currently rewatching it and I'm loving it even more the second time around.
One of the reasons I'm looking forward to participating in this group more, is that I want to read more classics and there are definitely quite a few of those on the list :)
Hello everybody! My name is Angee and currently i'm an uni student in London, UK. However, I was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. English is the 3rd language i learnt, therefore, I apologize beforehand for any grammatical errors and misspellings. I do want to learn, so feel free to correct me any time :).
I always loved reading, it was my way of escaping the reality when I was a kid. But then i kind of stopped reading when puberty hit and music became my new form of escape. Recently, I found myself picking up a book again and got completely immersed in it, which resulted in a reading spree.
Since I was only a child when Gilmore Girls was airing on TV, i never really got around watching it until it was available on Netflix (it was love at first episode). Watching Rory being a total book nerd inspired me to read more too and when I found this reading challenge, I couldn't resist. The main reason i want to do this challenge though is because the choice of books here aren't typically what i would reach for if i was in a bookstore or a library. But i do want to expand my vocabulary and challenge my critical thinking, therefore this is perfect!
Sorry, if i have been rambling for too long :D
It's very nice to meet you all :)
Hello everyone! My name is Vicky and I live in California. I've decided to attempt this challenge due to the Netflix GG revival, which I am very excited about!
Hello my name is Desirae. I love reading all sorts of books and I love challenges. I have recently started re-watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix to get ready for the next "season" and have for a long time now wanted to read a lot of the books that Rory read.
Hi everyone! Im Tanya from Canada! I fell in love with books a few years ago when i was finished school and was hunting for a job, they allowed me to escape my boring daily life and go on an adventure without costing too much! Although i still love books, i cant read as much because i have a full time job and a 6 month old baby at home. I look forward to discussing what books i can with everyone!
"oy with the poodles already!" ;-)hey guys, my name is alex and i am from germany. i am a huge gilmore girls fan and i think i am watching my 10th rerun or so. i also love books but mostly i read for fun and ignore the classics. but i really want to read them, and also in english, which will be a challenge for me too. i am looking forward to discuss the books with you. :)
Hi there, Alyssa from Arizona. Middle aged spinster with a Yorkie named Hermione {and no, I didn't name her after Miss Granger}. Love books, stationary & movies. Oh, and coffee! Looking forward to expanding my knowledge of literature through Rory's reading list
Hi Everyone,I am a bookworm and a huge fan of Gilmore Girls. I have read many of the books years ago but plan to read them again. I can't wait to get started. I only hope that I recover from this concussion soon so I can start reading again. And I really don't know why I haven't used this website before. I have been keeping track of my book lists the old fashion way. Pen and paper. Well, happy reading everyone.
Hi! I'm Tania. 34 year old paralegal from Montreal, Canada. Working full time and studying part time in accounting while helping my husband raise his 12 year old twin boys. Reading is my greatest passion. Wish I could spend my days doing only that. Love Gilmore Girls. Need to watch it again. Looking forward to this challenge!
Hello, everyone! My name is Jessica, as you can see, and I'm from Brazil. I started watching Gilmore Girls this year because Netflix finally put it on their catalog, but I always loved reading so when I heard about the Rory Gilmore Book Challenge I didn't think twice and started to search for it. I started the challenge at Aug 21 and I think it's a great opportunity for me to read more classics.
Hello! My name is Derek, I'm 14 and from Los Angeles, California. I am a sophomore in high school. I occasionally enjoy reading on my free time. I began watching Gilmore Girls more seriously with my sister about four or five months ago. My favorite character is Rory because of how intelligent she is and all the attributes she takes from her mother. I love coffee, watching old movies, and watching classic shows. I think doing this challenge will inspire me to read more books now and enjoy them.
Hey there!I'm a big fan of Gilmore Girls and have watched it many times already, and I absolutely love that Rory is so much into reading! So, I'm from Germany and love to read (obvs) and besides that, I love sports, calligraphy, puppies and artsy things. And coffee! Almost as much as Lorelai and Rory love coffee, but only almost. ;-)
Looking forward to interesting, funny and cool book discussions here with all of you :)
Hi everyone! My name is Wendy and I'm from The Netherlands, the teeny tiny country somewhere in Europe that everybody thinks of as the capital of tulips, windmills and cheese. I love reading and when I was smaller I also liked to watch Gilmore Girls (even though I really have to re-watch it again soon!). I'm really into playing the piano and singing as well and I'm currently attending college to become an English teacher.
I am soooooo looking forward to reading all these books with you and having discussions about them!
I'm Kaila from Central West New South Wales, Australia and a mother of four. I've recently started watching Gilmore girls with my girls on Netflix and have found myself getting addicted. I've always loved books and had to find a Rory Gilmore book challenge.
Hi guys! My name is Teresa and I'm new here. I'm 19, currently on my second year of uni in England. I started watching Gilmore Girls last year and I loved it sooo much I'll be re-watching the whole thing this Autumn. I'm really exited to go through Rory's book list, I usually read mostly historical fiction and classics but I want to pick up the pace and read more and more now. Anyway, I'm glad I found this group! :)
Hello! My name is Antonia, I'm 22 and I'm from Romania. I work in a bookshop, but thanks to Gilmore Girls, I want to go to college in the UK next year. I remember watching the series as a child, on TV. I knew I liked it so I started watching it again from begining to end. I cannot say how much I am obsessed with this series, especially since I relate myself with Rory so much. From the amount of coffee intake, weird OCDs perceiving the way the laudry should be washed, to the immense love of books, I must say the resemblances are almost scary, and I bet that happened to many of you here. :)
Hello I am Wylma from Texas and I love GG.I don't read as much as I'd like to and I hope this group will kill two birds with one stone: the read more and read Rory's list.
I'm Sarah, I'm a music teacher and I live in South Carolina. I have always been an avid reader but I want to get back into reading more classics. My boyfriend and I just finished watching all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls and I am obsessed! I'm so excited to start reading all of Rory's books! One of my favorite episodes is the Life and Death Brigade episode.
Hi My name is Wendy and I live in Colorado, just outside of Denver. This is our first year here and we love it! I have been wanting to do the Gilmore Challenge for a long time but just never find the time to read the books. A lot of the books are not my style but I am determined to get them read! My ideal challenge would be to read the books and watch the movies referenced in order of episodes but any progress would be great at this point to get started!
Hi,I am Sugandha from New Delhi, India. I recently completed my honors in Political Science, and currently I'm working as an Assistant Editor with an international publishing house. While I intend to enroll into a nice masters programme next year, I've sort of taken off this one to actually work, explore my interests and READ.
I started watching Gilmore Girls a month back, thanks to Netflix, and managed to finish off the first five seasons in the short span of 30 days. Like so many others, I found Rory (and her extreme reading habits) quite relatable, which then inspired me to do her Reading Challenge (which I've been documenting here- https://www.instagram.com/becomingrory). So far, I have only read 22/339 books, but I'm working on it, which is why I am here.
I'm trying to stretch out the remaining episodes for now, until the revival hits Netflix in November. I'm team Jess all the way, for now (because who knows how I might feel once I finish the series). That's about it. I look forward to binge-watching and reading with other GG fans. :)
Hi I'm Lili. I'm an insane book lover from the Philippines. I'm twenty four and I've been collecting books since I was eight...:)
Hello everyone!I'm Crystal, and I'm looking forward to this book list. I just started watching Gilmore Girls, and I fell in love. Many of the books on the list I've already read, but I can't wait to reread them.
Hello all! Im Q and Im 32. I, of course, am a fan of Gilmore Girls. Ive been wanting to read this list for some time now. It's great to finally get started with this group. I've only read a couple of them so far which was very disappointing for me when I realized this. I had thought for sure I would already have read quite a few by now. Oh well, thats what the challenge is for isn't it.
Hi everyone. I think it would be fun to do this challenge, specially since most books are in my "want to read" pile. I am a fan of the show, and figured this is a good incentive to read so many types of books. :-) I have already read a few.. but I might re-read a lot of my favorite classics.
Hey guys, Orlaith here! Medical student and bookworm from Ireland here. I've idolised Rory Gilmore since I was about 10 years old and have really been looking for a way to motivate myself to read in between the huge amount of work that being a medical student with a job is. Happy to be here!
Hey, guys! Which list from the challenge are you following? I know there is one from facebook which contains 339 books, but it's incomplete. There are some titles missing, like Oliver Twist.

As you can see in the "How it works" thread on top, we use the one written by Bear Allen of Black White and Read Books blog. Her list can be found here:

My name is Ashley and I am from Vancouver, Canada. I was previously a Paralegal and Holistic Nutritionist and will be a student again starting in January for Western Herbalism and Acupuncture.I started watching Gilmore Girls back in high school. I am currently re-watching the series (again!) before the new ones start in November! Looking forward to this challenge as I have always loved to read.
Hi my name is Megan and I live in South Australia, Australia. I am a teacher and I love reading. I am new here and have long wanted to read all of the books on the Rory Gilmore reading list and figured this would be good motivation. I also love to talk about the books I am reading, but not all my friends like to here about them :)
Hi, I'm Jessica. I live in the Forest of Dean, England. HUGE fan of Gilmore Girls. Watching it for the third time this year ready for the new episodes. Slowly making my way through the epic list of books!
Hi, I'm Georgea from Brazil! Married and mother of a baby girl :) I really enjoy the show and I am currently rewatching it. Can't wait for the new episodes! I've started counting my read books from the challenge last year, and , as I said on another post, intend to read at least one book from the challenge per month. This year I read 13 and my total is 35 so far. Most of the titles are great and essential for literature lovers! Have a good reading, everyone!
Hi everyone :) I'm Debbi from Italy and I'm 23. I've been a Gilmore Girls fan since I was in middle school, and I'm super excited about the revival! I'm rewatching the show to prepare for November; currently @ season 2 (Jess <3)I hope this group will help me read a whole new variety of books :)
Hi everyone! My name is Michaela, I have been taking the Rory Gilmore challenge now for about a year. I didn't know about this group though until Goodreads updated their mobile app. I joined about a week ago and now here I am making my introductions. I am a graduate student in architecture school, which basically translates to not having any time ever, drinking too much coffee, and sleeping too little. In case you are wondering, yes, I am procrastinating right now. I feel like it's important to share this bit of information because it will likely limit my activity on this group and on discussions, but I hope you will all let me stay and be sort of a wallflower. Because of my time constraints, I do most of my reading audio-book-style now while drawing construction documents. I just finished Pride and Prejudice and am currently listening to Frankenstein (I am about half done) and plan on listening to Atonement as it is November's book next.
My name is Kate, I'm a student from Dublin, Ireland. I love Gilmore Girls, but I am only watching it for the first time now since it has been released on Netflix, as I was too young to watch it when it was first released. I envy Rory Gilmore's knowledge of books, and the range of genres she's read, so I can't wait to catch up. I am definitely Team Jess.
