I have heard nothing but good things about this book, having said that I'm not sure I'll read it. I tend to avoid books set during WW1/WW2. We'll see...
@Frogli: Because of the sadness and pain? I've done that with The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas and The Book Thief, but I'm quite excited to read All the Light We Cannot See.@Nicole: Wow, any book that deserves a re-read it means it was a great book!
@Danielle: I'm so jealous you have Winter already, I have to wait like 3 weeks for it to get to Costa Rica, so in that time, I'll be reading our group read and Winter later! Enjoy it sweetie and let me know what you think of it once you finish it!
@Silvia, no... honestly I think it's because at school I was forced to study WW1 & WW2 with multiple trips to the Imperial War Museum and I hated it (would much rather have studied ancient history), we've had a whole year of commemorations, and urgh, it's the last setting I want to read about.Doesn't mean I won't read it eventually (also The Book Thief), like I say, have heard very good things but I would have to be in the mood for it which right now I'm not.
On plus side I kept putting off Island Beneath the Sea but now I'm actually reading it am enjoying it way more than I expected to. Maybe that'll eventually happen with All the Light We Cannot See as well :)
This book has been raved about so much I'm so excited. @Frogli - I totally get you. When it comes to WWII I tend to stay away from Holocaust books because we had to read so many in school :/ But I think for me, this one will be fine :)
