round vs flat character

In my book a round character is Roy because in the beginning of the book he starts out shy that he is in a new school. Then he ends up being friendly and makes friends. A flat character is the mom because she doesn't change, she keeps telling Roy you have to try to make friends. Also to do better in his new school.
