Bookstrained | 4 comments So I recently started a book blog and because of Ashleigh (created the book blogs 2015 discussion) I have been motivated to use it as much as possible. But I don't exactly know how to link everything and create all the advanced pages and posts yet. So if anyone has a Wordpress blog or knows how to use it to the best possible ability, I would be so grateful if you would give me some tips on how to do these things! Thank you so much if you do! :)

My blog: https://bookstrained.wordpress.com
Ashleigh's blog: https://afrolicthroughfiction.wordpre...

Oh my days I just stumbled across this topic randomly, I am so glad I've motivated you/had any sort of effect! It means so much to know someone actually reads my words and gets something from them haha! :D

I don't know too much myself, but I'm happy to share the things I've learnt about blogging on wordpress, or at least how I use it. You might already know some of this.

To add pages to your blog, there's an icon in the top left corner saying "My sites", and if you click that a list should appear. Underneath "blog posts" you should see something saying "pages", and you can add new one's there. To edit them after, when you're on that page there will be a small "edit" button at the bottom right corner.

Since you can't change the size, font or colour in individual blog posts, o create headings in the post I use paint to type out a fancy font with colours, save it as a picture, then add it to the post.

I found out there's a wonderful thing called the "read more tag". It shortens the post when a person is on your homescreen, so that the entire post isn't shown. This means your home page will show snippets of each post, instead of the entire thing.

Don't know if this helps at all? I'll be sure to comment again if I think of anything else! :)

Claudia Ellis (adailycloud) | 5 comments I'd really appreciate it if you guys could check my book blog out too? I do post other content other than books too, it's kind of a lifestyle type blog but it's got a lot of book content on there and I'm totally up for any suggestions any you guys might have on posts to make? I've checked out both of your blogs by the way and I love love love them!
