Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments A Tor.com article, Is it Grimdark, or is it Horror? written by T. Frohock got a lot of feedback posts from readers.

I'd never heard the term/genre GRIMDARK. Have you?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Cool article, thanks

There's a grimdark group Im a member of, it's kind of newish, called Grimdark Fantasy

It seems to be the dark, serious kind of fantasy

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Welcome! At this point, there's probably a group on GR for every different kind of book and genre. Love that about this site!

"serious kind of fantasy" makes me giggle for some reason, but I'm guessing that means it's more intense without humor, as can found in some other fantasy, yah?

As much as I enjoy a good light fantasy read, I do like when the characters, especially vampires are really wicked. That's how they started off for me and then they went to the other extreme of sparkling in the sun. :p
