I'm trying to figure out if characters in Catching Fire are flat or round characters. I know that Prim is a round character and Gale is most likely a flat character. I can't figure out what kind of character Katniss is, but I have a feeling she is a round character. What does everybody think?

By the way, if anybody doesn't know this, a round character changes during the story and a flat character stays the same.
I haven't read the books, but I do know the story, and actually, I think Katniss is a flat character... from the beginning of the book, I can kind of see how she has leadership qualities that continue throughout the books...?
NO WAY!!!!! Katniss at the beginning was not a law-defier and would never even think about starting a rebellion!
I see what you are saying... Katniss has always had the quality of being a leader but also, I think she changed a lot from the first Hunger Games. Do you understand what I'm saying?
Yeah I agree with Aaron completely, but she did defy the law every day by going to hunt in the woods. Although, Katniss would not have been able to start a rebellion!

But also, many of her character traits have stayed the same...
I think Katniss is a round character because in the beginning of the book she's very stubborn and independent but as the book progresses she becomes more open and shows a wider variety of traits.

In the first book she is flat but after the first Hunger Games she changes and in the second book she becomes rounder.
I agree but she is still a bad listener, stubborn, and pretty independent. She also got more character traits but those are the most important one's. She has been like that since the beginning.
I think that throughout the games, she experiences suffering, and because of her suffering, she learns to endure and stay strong. I think this is what makes her change.
That's true but she suffered before the games. Her father dies when she is young and she almost starves to death before she learns to hunt...
During the games she felt a different kind of suffering

Ok so I think that Gale is a flat but dynamic character.
He totally changed a little after the whole Peeta thing.

Round characters have many traits while flat characters have few. It does not matter if they change.
