p105 - (view spoiler)[I cannot believe that they just let Evie go with them to the murder scene! She's a minor, why would you subject her to that? And I really, really hope that the mutilation to Ruta happened after she died. Poor thing!

I really hope this ramps it up soon. I'm enjoying it but the switches to different plot lines - Ruta's for a bit, and this random Memphis guy - is annoying me. I don't get what a runner is at all! (hide spoiler)]

I agree that it is a slow and long book, but at the end I can say that I love it so much. Evie is funny and lovable and the world building is incredible, imo. It was so vivid I didn't have problem imagine it, despite I don't know anything at all at that time period.

I'm a little tired. It's like the first book, where things take a loooong time to happen. I have no problem with that, but this situation between Jericho, Evie, Sam and Mabel... Come on!

Mabel likes Jericho, but he doesn't like her.

Jericho and Evie like each other, but Evie doesn't want to hurt Mabel.

Sam kind of likes Evie, but Evie doesn't like him.

Sam and Evie are pretending they are engaged to earn fame.

Jericho is hurt, so he'll go out with Mabel, even though he doesn't like her that way.

In a book so big, I think this is all bulls***



But I must admit that Evie and Sam and very funny together.

“Hahaha—oh, you, you, you…” Evie pinched Sam’s cheek. Hard. “Dear little tiny man. You’re just five feet, three inches of pure joy. My own lucky leprechaun.”



It's not that I don't like Evie with each of them. I just don't like the misunderstandings.

Wow! That ending was... Wow! Amazing! They're finally all together and the third book promises to be amazing!

I liked and didn't like the book. The part related to the dreams, the part with Ling and Henry, was amazing. So good! But the part with Evie was terrible. Not that I couldn't read it, but it's a veeeeery long book, so sometimes I felt bored and didn't want to go on. I think some things weren't necessary. It could be shorter.

So until around 75% of the book I decided to give it 3 stars. But the end changed my mind. 4 stars for this amazing ending!

I'm very excited with what will happen next. Things are getting more serious for our heroes. I almost gave up, but you did it, Libba Bray. You did it again.
