I finished my read so will be getting to this soon. I'm listening to it as an audiobook since I couldn't find a hardcopy at the library so hopefully I don't get too lost. I might take this one slow as it is a 22hr audio

Day 6:
(view spoiler)[I had a feeling that George wasn't gonna make it very far but this was sooner than I expected, poor guy.

One of my favourite things about this series is how we get to see so many different aspects of 1920s New York and follow POVs from characters with very different backgrounds.

I gotta say that she was pretty spot on (at least in my experience) about how what it's like to be of Chinese descent growing up in a western country. We tend to dismiss superstitions as being pointless and old fashioned, and yet it still feels wrong to disrespect them. (hide spoiler)]

Day 7:
(view spoiler)[Blurry edges and not knowing what an automobile is? Calling it now, there's definitely something weird going on with Wai-Mae, she's probably from the Victorian/Edwardian era or something and died on the boat/got lost wandering in a dream decades ago and now she's stuck in the dream world.

I love Evie so much, she's probably the most realistic portrayal of a teenaged girl I've ever read in YA and I can't wait to see more about the Jericho and Mabel situation! (hide spoiler)]

Day Six: (view spoiler)[I really love how much this series is picking up from the last book. I already feel this book is going to be much more fast paced with what is happening and I love the different pov too. (hide spoiler)]

Day 10 (Up to 'Telling Fortunes'):
(view spoiler)[I have a terrible feeling about this, Louis is gonna turn out to be dead or something, this is way too positive and this series doesn't do positive.

At LEAST one out of Louis or Wai-Mae is going to turn out to not be a living person, I just know it.

Also Henry. Buddy. I'm disappointed. Whether in real life or in a fictional story, I hate it when someone chooses a romantic interest over a friend, especially a friend like Theta who's loved and supported him for so long.

It's quite ironic that Evie, who is supposed to be incredibly selfish and shallow, easily chose Mabel Rose over Jericho, but Henry just outright disrespected his friendship with Theta over a guy he knew for a few months. (hide spoiler)]

Day Seven: (view spoiler)[I feel the opposite towards Evie, I don't really like her that much however she is a very strong main character which suits the series quite well. She's almost dislikable in a likeable way but I do agree she is a great representative of a certain type of teenaged girl.

I'm really interested in Ling and I really love her character so far. The dream stuff is so interesting and the power is one of my favourite I've experienced in the story so far.

Wai-Mae is kind of creepy to me however I think you are right with your theory because she's definitely from an older era especially when she mentioned not bringing a boy you are not married to. (hide spoiler)]

The Last Day: Forget
(view spoiler)[Oof, so I was right on both counts. I mean I guess that Louis might still be alive though since he hasn't been 100% confirmed dead? He's probably dead though.

I'm sure that they'll manage to save Henry at last second since Ling has that pearl and Memphis is around, it's lucky that she was in the theater with all those costumes.

I made the bad decision to read this book right before my exams, usually I can finish a 600 page book in 4-6 days but I've been reading this for almost 3 weeks now and all the different perspectives is making it hard for me to remember who knows what pieces of information so I've been getting kinda confused. I think some friends are like that. I don't know if you would consider them a very good friend after that but I do admire Evie in the way she never chose a guy over her friends. (hide spoiler)]

I'm having the same problem with it taking me weeks and usually it takes me less than a week for a book around 600 pages, I was like that with the first book too though so it may just be the series. (hide spoiler)]
