Turtle - What type of character is she?

The book The Westing Game is, seriously, my favorite book in the whole world. Turtle happens to be my favorite character in the book, also. I love her so much because throughout the course of the book, I view her so differently. Ellen Raskin does a phenomenal job first making the reader look at her as an oddball - a loner - but by the end, showing the reader that she is truly a smart, kind, and warm person, despite being a disgrace to her family at first, and despite having an older child who is basically the ultimate beautiful "perfect child".

So, what do you think of her? Who is Turtle to you? Which side of her do you see: The one that is ugly on the outside, or the one that is beautiful on the inside? The round character that has several sides, or the flat one that has no meaning?

Hello

I also think Turtle is a round character

First of all, her mom barely cares for her at all, so she has a reason for having such a hard shell--she thinks she needs to. Secondly, she is very independent and thinks for herself. She put her money in the stock market! Who would think of doing that??

Also, Raskin does a good job of not revealing her age (as far as I know from where I am in the book) to make readers feel at least a little bit bad for her lack of parental affection.

that was my argument
bye now

p.s. does anyone else hate how annoying and stupid Grace Wexler is
