Elizabeth Oh my gosh yes, Grace Wexler SO gets on my nerves! She has two daughters yet only cares for her first one; When her "perfect child", Angela, says "ouch!" while getting her wedding dress done, Grace automatically assumes that it's because the tailor pricked her with a needle and she's like, "My daughter has very sensitive skin!"!!!

Thanks for your opinion on Turtle. I also agree that not revealing her age too easily was very thoughtful of the reader.

Elizabeth Does anyone else have an opinion on Turtle? I was thinking about this after what we learned in class about the difference between round and dynamic characters, and now, I believe that not only is Turtle round (she has lots of traits), but she is also dynamic. By this, I mean that she changes throughout the book. At first, she is a loner-type person that feels abandoned and like a disgrace, but by the end, I feel like she finally has friends like Sam Westing, is finally proud of herself, and most of all, finally has found her true self.

Georgia Carrino I'm not done with the book yet, but I agree. From the start, she has appeared to be tough, independent, and ruthless in her own way. As the story goes on, you can start to see that she actually IS human and has feelings like jealousy and love, like when nobody comes to braid her hair that one time she starts to get more and more jealous of Angela. And she is also a little bit self-conscious! About 1. her actual name (Tabitha Ruth) and 2. the fact that she is called turtle because she looked like a turtle as a baby and she thinks she still does.

Thats all I have to say for now
