Robert Rodriguez did the first four episodes. After those who knows ?

Michael Benavidez I always saw the film as a stand alone, nothing that would warrant a series. I love Rodriguez, I love his films, but I think if he was to do a tv series, I would love something original.

Michael Benavidez Yeah but I never put any attention to them Lol I tried watching 2 but I couldn't do it. And just ignored part 3 and was there a 4?

There was a sequel? the more I think about it, the more I shall just stick with the original.

They were direct to video films abd without Rodriguez at the helm. I think. I don't remember

I shall consider myself well advised.

Frances For the sake of clarity: the TV series is not a sequel to the movie. The TV series is a retelling or reboot of the movie, and I for one am having fun with it.

(ETA: oh, good /now/ the comments making it clear that that's already been covered are loading for me. This weekend is fired.)

I honestly don't think events subsequent to the movie would be particularly interesting; they're adding enough detail and depth that if they do decide to progress past the shoot-out at the bar, it`ll at least be thge events subsequent to the TV series rather than subsequent to the movie. But they're three episodes in and I think we've covered the first ten minutes of the movie, if that.

(I wouldn't consider it lit-horror, but in that, it is like the movie. And I am liking Richie rather better, albeit in a sort of horrified way.)

Literature is in the eye of the beholder. I am sure 50 years ago Lovecraft or Clark Ashton Smith wouldn't be considered Lit either. I'm not trying to say Rodriguez is in those circles. It just kind of hit me the relationship with horror and vampires that the series has might be of interest to the group, especially as related to this month's read.
