Build the MCT Reading Room
I'll start:A plush, fluffy, soft, and stone coloured wall-to-wall carpet.
an adjustable reading light
Wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling bookcases. With a ladder.
My dog lying on the floor beside my easy chair.
Small cozy blanket on the lap
Beautiful pictures on the walls
little isolated reading nooks on the balcony
Rain outside with soft thunder in the distance - love that when I'm reading
A long beautiful garden ending at a foot path, and on the other side the beach.

Light. Lots and lots of light. Natural or artificial.
Bookshelves crammed with books
Thanks, JB. The room is on the first or second floor so that you can see over the garden and the sea beyond. (British style first/second floor -- we go ground floor, first floor, second floor and so on.)
A side table with a long cool drink and some chocolates waiting for my attention.

If I'm drinking and eating I can't read. And when I eat I drink beer. When I drink more than three beers I can't concentrate on reading. :-)
Maggie. You remind me of my wife. Her last meal will be chocolates.
My two dogs on the couch at my feet, 2 overloaded bookcases on the opposite wall and stacks of "in progress" books within reach.
I LOVE chocolates and tea when I'm reading. It's become a ritual I crave sometimes.

Okay. So we have a choice if either:* A sea view, or
* a view of the woods in the distance with a lake or river.
Also, you can either have:
* A first floor room with French patio doors opening out to a balcony, or
* A ground floor room with French patio doors opening out to a conservatory.
Whichever grabs your fancy.
If you can post a picture of the item you are putting in the room, that's even better. You can paint the walls and even define the view out the windows. But one person must not paint over the first person, unless everybody hates the colour or something like that.
As the thread progresses we shall be building a little piece of heaven on earth.
