ABANDONED. Large colorful highly detailed illustrated creation fantasy

A large picture book. I do not think it was by an american author or illustrator. It has something about: children of the air and water joining then had something sad like all the children of the water dying, Red wife of man is destruction and gave no children, and would become the wife of the sleeping creator, and the second wife of man. I only vaguely remember it from when I was much younger. Any help would be appreciated
