As per the change to our reads and challenges for 2016, we ask that everyone now nominate a book for our January read.

Old or new - as long as it's Crime/Mystery/Thriller or Suspense!

This thread will be open until 15th November, then our nominations will go to the vote:) Good luck and have fun!

Authors and publishers, please don't nominate your own work!

I can second 11/22/63

Could I also nominate Split Second by Douglas E. Richards. I just finished it and I think it was really interesting and would love to discuss it. :)

I've just realized this is the second in the series. If people hate not staying at the beginning, the first is Hades by Candice Fox

I don't think it matters too much Mary - if it wins the vote for the book of the month, and people want to read #1 first, they'll read it as well as the nominated book...2 for 1!!

message 15: by Rhondda (new)

Rhondda (bibliokat) | 238 comments I would like to nominate Geoffrey McGeachin's The Diggers Rest Hotel (Charlie Berlin #1).
The setting for the story is Australia in 1940's. It is the first in a series about WWII returned POW Charlie Berlin. The hero, Charlie, is a detective and a flawed hero and the era is beautifully captured

A Perfect Evil by Alex Kava first in a nice long series about Maggie O'Dell a detective. A Perfect Evil (Maggie O'Dell, #1) by Alex Kava
