I was lucky enough to stumble upon the previous group in December of the 2014 so I have read all 52 books, plus some extras cause I just can't stop. I got a couple fellow book lovers interested but they never followed through beyond the first month. (sad)
The best thing about the group wasn't that I had 52 books to read, but that it stretched my comfort zone. I read books that I never would have considered picking up with amazing and less than ideal results. I am willing to accept that challenge again!
I will not be making any list. No pre-planning. I'm just going to go where the wind blows.
Personal favorites include murder mysteries, absolutely. But nothing too gory, okay? And yeah, YA dystopian. I'm a complete sucker for supernatural as long as it's not too heavy...I guess I like to think that it could be possible, but only mingled with the real world that I'm currently residing in. Feel free to send me suggestions!!
Happy Reading Book Friends!

This year has been rather full of chick lit, romance, erotica and dystopia, but I have many other categories on the TBR shelf, and for some reason the 52 topics seem quite suitable to start chipping away on the TBR list.
I'm jumping in with the idea that it should be fun and that rules can be broken, and also life happens, but other than that I'm inspired to start plotting how to read with intention.
Happy reading!

I love this approach! Meh, let's start with a mini plan and just see what happens. There was a children's show here in the US called Magic School Bus and it was about exploring and seeing science in action. The teacher used to say "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy"...which I love. Sounds kind of like your "rules can be broken" comment.
Whatever happens...you will have fun, I'm sure of it!

My favourite genres are Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic and CanLit, but I'll read anything that sounds really interesting.
I'm excited to get started!

Have you read any Karina Halle? She's one of my favorite authors, and Canadian.

I haven't yet but I'll check her out. Thanks for the suggestion!

I am a children's librarian in a public library.

I was a member of the old group but I wasn't very active there. Will try to be more active in 2016 and get my TBR lower :)

That's okay. Just read what you can and have fun with it :)
Welcome to the group!

The prompts for this group are interesting and I've been enjoying putting together ideas for the new year. I like that there are some flexible prompts (not that I'm above loosely interpreting a prompt to slot in a book I want to read!) and I also love all the suggestions. I am trying create a very diverse booklist for the year: diverse genres, lots of books by women, people of color, people from other countries and with experiences different to my own.
Thanks for putting this together! :)

I see you have posted a plan in the 2016 Plans folder! Can't wait to see what you've selected.

Besides reading I like to run, workout and I coach high school field hockey.
My favorite genre is historical fiction. I'm currently reading The Book of Speculation.

I'm considering reading The Book of Speculation, is it good?

Hi Sophie!
So far so good. I'm only about 70 pages in but I'm enjoying it.

I love anything to do with the outdoors especially mountain biking. I love to read but for some reason will go months without finishing a book because I got too "busy". I hope this challenge will introduce me to new books and friends! Happy reading :)

I plan to read a lot of books in 2016 and hopefully, this group will help me a lot.

Hi, Sarah-from-Iowa! I'm Angie-from-Iowa! :)
I did the pop sugar challenge for 2015, and have 2 1/2 books left to do to get to 52. I didn't think I was going to make it, but I feel so accomplished! I can't wait to do another 52 in 2016, and I'm super excited about some of the books on my list!

My favorite genres are science fiction and non-fiction, especially books concerning the environment and animals.

Rachel, if you have any question, don't hesitate to ask, we're here to help.

I am also new to the group, and from what I can see we should have a good time! Thank you for being so helpful and welcoming :)

My favorite genres tend to be young adult, mystery, and contemporary new adult.

I've recently become interested in nonfiction books about identity, race, cognitive processes, and history. I also like to read historical fiction and coming-of-age novels.
I hope to read a book in a language other than English this coming year; in either Spanish, French, or Russian.

Hi, Joy! I teach ESL, TOEFL prep, and debate at a private academy (ages 6-15). How was your Spanish at the time? I'm worried that the language in anything beyond a children's book will be prohibitively advanced.

I love reading, Netflixing, crochet and other crafts, and writing. I also enjoy gaming (I run a Dungeons and Dragons group, and I'm in a group that streams on Twitch), chocolate, academia, and makeup.
I can't wait to join you all ^_^
Hugs and love

Favorite genres are historical fiction, YA lit, and (when of need of a quick fun read) romance.
Can't wait to join. One question for those who have been here before, for the A-Z challenge do we have to read them in ABC order, hop around, or pick a letter and go in order from there?
Thanks!

I enjoy spending time with my little family as well as my parents and siblings. I am the oldest of 8 and have 17 nieces/nephews. I love reading, hiking, cooking, cleaning, camping, gardening, canning, knitting/crocheting and fitness.
My favorite book genres are true crime, historical fiction, comedy biography, young adult, contemporary fiction and book club.
