the fault in our stars, the help, sisterhood of the travelling pants seriesI fell in love with the characters and the storylines and everything I learned from the novels
The Fault in Our Stars most defiantly caused me to see the world in a new way. Also lesions from a died girl. It made me rethink what true friendship is.
The book "Growing Up Duggar: It's all about relationships" changed me, for the better I believe. I feel so much happier and like I have real goals now. It's not fiction, but as far as non-fiction goes, this is in my top ten most influential books!
I have several...A Walk to Remember was the first book ever to make me cry.
Secret Life of Bees showed me what a real family is.
The Lovely Bones affected me very strongly, I had to take breaks while reading it just to clear my head.
Anyways, the best book I've read was still the Five People you meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. Nothing beats the book's greatness so far :)
Mine is a book called The Chronicles of Nefertete by Lydia Robinson. It is not on goodreads but it made me fall in love with Ancient Egypt, I eventually became an Egyptology because of it. Silly I suppose but I was really young when I read it.
Lovely, Dark and Deep is an amazing book. It truly changed my life. It is about how to deal with all the crap the world throws at you. This book does not sugar coat anything it just simply tells things like it is.
I haven't read any books that have really changed my life. There are of course books that I've loved and cherished, and books that have made me really think, but none that influenced me a lot.Honestly, I don't really know how a book can change you. Most people just say books that they love when asked a question like this, but that's not really changing you as a person is it?
To me, the most influential book I've read is
. It really helped me understand death better and also helped me to deal with the loss of someone. I always recommend this book to people of all ages.
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson is the book that prompted my passion for psychology, and I credit the book to my current course of study and future specialisation. Soulmates by Holly Bourne taught me to never take my relationships for granted since you never know when it might end.
The book to Kill a Mockingbird will always resonate with me and I think for the whole nation. Atticus Finch is my hero and whenever I am in doubt about my actions I always think about what would Atticus do. That book teaches people about empathy and not judging those that seem less then them.
I have to agree with Brianne. I read To Kill A Mockingbird many years ago and also watched the movie shortly after finishing the novel. A total masterpiece in both mediums. It influenced me quite a bit, not as a writer, but as a person. Sometimes making the right choice isn't always the most popular decision or even the smartest one at the time, but if you go with your heart and damn the consequences as Atticus Finch did, then your conscience will forever be clear.
