So "Teen Angst? Nahhh" is the first book he wrote (when he was only 19!) Definetly a must-read!

I find it neat how Craig finds the number for the suicide hotline in his mother's book (that inevitably leads him to admit himself to the hospital) and how that is exactly how Ned Vizzini ended up in the hospital himself. I also like the parallel of how Craig mentions killing himself by jumping and that is the way in which Ned Vizzini took his own life. In writing the book, Ned drew from his own experiences and when he writes so much that is directly in relation to himself, it makes me feel like I get a slightly closer look into what he was going through personally.

You know Ned died 12/19/2013. So sad! Let's take a moment to remember him.

We should add that one to our list. The author seems to meet our criteria these days.

I reread the intro. So sad. "Ned didn't make it."

I liked that intro. It was very sad.

Yes, it was sad. I am reading the first part over. It is interesting how Craig showed signs early on like when he tried to draw those maps. It seems like when he got into that school he stopped having "good days."

I sort of feel like this is what Get Well Soon/Have A Nice Day could have been.

I found that part about the maps so interesting. It's like there was something inside him before it started to be really obvious. Almost like it was already there and it just hadn't been triggered yet...Thomas in I Know This Much is True!

Good connection to Thomas! I am really enjoying this book. I want to read more of Ned. Why do all the good authors leave us too soon?

I am on page 157 where he is at the hospital. I am almost in tears. Ishkaabibbles!

This is such a good book. Already 5 Stars!!!

You should see the movie! I saw it so long ago, I wouldn't be able to remember it well enough to compare it to the book, but I remember it being very good!

I plan on downloading the movie once I finish the book. I really want to see it. Maybe we can read Teen Angst after Infinite Jest. Keep the trend with dead authors going.

As you know, I have high expectations and am very critical of the ending of books and movies.

Okay just finished. I would say 3.5 stars so I rounded up to 4. I thought the hospital part dragged on. Overall good book.
