I'm not at all sure about what happened on the with Dragnipur, or in temple at Coral, or really with Salind and Clip...it was kind of a jumble all that part. I get that Rake died and that Aranatha allowed Mother Dark to take a body when all that happened, and that somehow they were then able to defeat the Dying God - who oddly only just showed up in this book (or did I miss hints of that from before? It wasn't just Bellurdan was it?) - anyway...all that was a bit hard to follow in places.

I was happy to see Nimander take his place leading the Tiste Andii;and the rest of the group from Drift Avalii were with him (finally something worked out for them). Although it sounds as if we get to look forward to more trouble from Clip.

The God of Death is killed--that was a shocker--and then Rake is absorbed into Kurald Gulain.Wow! With all the emotional highs and lows of this series, Anomander Rake's dissolution into the Gate of Darkness was the first time I cried.
