I have a free weekend which is going to be RAINY RAINY RAINY! So what better time to binge read a series? I'm not typically a binge reader of series so this will be fun!

What series do you think would make a great binge read? What series have you binge read? Do you typically binge read series?

Jen (wishesandwanderlust) | 696 comments I'm currently binge reading the Divergent trilogy. Finished the first book yesterday and starting the second tonight!

I think the Jessica Darling series would be perfect for a binge read!

And I second Harry Potter! I read the entire series over the summer for the first time and it was amazing.

Swissysmile I second Jen, the Divergent trilogy is my go-to book right now :) It's the book I recommend anytime someone asks me. It's the book that I google personality quizzes about, it's the book I youtube fan made videos about hahahaha :D All that to say, it's a good series :)

You need to keep going Jamie. The first one was younger and the movie followed the book so much more than the others. I am not sure you have watched the movies but some you will be shocked at how much of the book isn't included.

Kayla | 604 comments I very rarely binge read a series. I can read one series for years, reading the books months apart. I don't know why I don't like to continue with a series right away. I just always crave a new author or genre too frequently to stick with the same thing for too long, I guess.

Off the top of my head, the only two series I can remember binge reading are the Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong and Twilight (which was really addictive regardless of whatever else you thought about it).

Scrolling through my book list, it looks like I read half of the Vampire Academy series within a month, which is unusual for me.

I read all of the Weetzie Bat books (by Francesca Lia Block) at the same time, if that counts. All five books were together in one volume I'd bought, and the volume is less than 500 pages.

Anthony (anthjames) I don't want to sound so typical of my generation but like others have said, Harry Potter is really good to binge-read! I did so the second time I read it and there were dozens of things that I had forgotten that weren't including in the films.

Melissa | 279 comments Harry Potter! It is amazing, what was left out of the movies and what I forgot happened!

Ema Fortunova (emaf) I'm currently reading The Hitchhiker's Guide by Douglas Adams, it is actually super easy to read and it is really funny!

The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy #1-5) by Douglas Adams

Sam | 5 comments Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus!

Danielle I definitely say Harry Potter. The stories are amazing and I learn something new every time that I may have missed the previous times.

Doing my annual reread right now on HP.
:)

Gina (bookishgina) | 28 comments Not sure how many you can binge read, but the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series is pretty great.

message 16: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Lauren (ashleyllauren) I just did a binge read of Daughter of Smoke and Bone - that was fun to do all in one go. I'd also say Angelfall, though that's not done so I don't think that counts :-)

Away from the YA side, and something that is IMPOSSIBLE to binge due to its length, but it still super addictive, is the Outlander series.

Kate | 13 comments My most recent binge was on the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. GAH, best books I've read in awhile, I was totally hooked. I also agree that Harry Potter and the Vampire Academy books are classic go-to binge books, they never get old to me!
