Allegiant Point of View

Who here has read Allegiant? If so, do you like how the point of view changes between Tris and Tobias? I personally think Veronica Roth did this because Tris's point of view sometimes got boring. What do you think?

Both characters were shallow and cardboard and I couldn't tell one viewpoint from the other.

She did it because (view spoiler) Which really kinda gave that fact away...If it had been in multiple POVs the whole time, it would have worked and not given the ending away. But since it was an abrupt change in the last book, I thought it was dumb. But seeing as the whole book was pretty bad, the POVs is really a minor thing.

There wasn't a big enough difference between Tris's voice and Four's voice which made reading the book kind of confusing. There were many times that I forgot who was narrating because they didn't sound different enough.

I agree with Kristen, she did it because (view spoiler), and she needed another character to finish off telling the ending.

I was not a fan of the POV switch. It made the plot twist at the end obvious since the POV switch was not used in the other books...

I was also bored because of that. Their POVs were both very similar and it made it hard to distinguish one voice from the other. There wasn't a difference that made me go "Wow, this Tobias POV is amazing! I can't believe how different Tris and Tobias are. I completely understand their characters better!"

Originally I liked the idea of Roth switching between alternate view points. Not cause Tris was boring, but because to me Tris could be uber bitchy over the most silliest of things. But when I read Allegiant and how that story unfolded. Man I had wished she left it with Tris's voice or had her alternate between Tris and Christina or something. Cause Tobias just read so heart breakingly broken to me. And that is just uber sad to me. Especially how someone could get in his mind like that and make him doubt himself so thoroughly.

I agree that she had two separate pov's because of (You know what happens lol). She needs someone to finish of the story/series, or it would just leave us hanging with a dead main lead. Also, I felt like the story needed some more emotion to it (i'm sry....kind of getting tired of Tris's pov). This whole entire time, we had been reading pov of a girl that ALWAYS attempts to be strong, and that eventually gets boring. The story had needed a turning point/twist, which we finally got, Tris's death. The story absolutely needed Four's reaction to her death (They are dating).Besides, don't the readers want to see how much Tris had meant to him? The change of pov's had made me "wake up" thats for sure, because I wanted to feel some emotion for once and sort of sympathize for the character.
