Simon Allen | 4 comments I read this in late 70's but the book was much older and had nice black and white illustrations.

Simon, is this a picture book or a longer chapter book?

Can you describe the illustrations - realistic, cartoony, photographic, painted/watercolor-like, humorous, etc.?

In what country/language did you read it?

Simon Allen | 4 comments Thank you for the questions everyone.

It definitely wasn't Gulliver's travels but was certainly influenced by the story of Lilliput.

I read this in the UK and it was in English.

The story may have been part of a collection of stories in one book. I can't remember clearly unfortunately. I've always had the impression that the book was old (perhaps before 1950) but I can't be sure. The illustrations were black and white and perhaps "woodcut" style but again I can't be certain.

Sorry to be so vague. Hope you can help.

Simon Allen | 4 comments Apologies. Forgot to say that it was a proper story book rather than a picture book.

Simon Allen | 4 comments Hi Pamela,

Very interesting. Looks like a great book to watch out for. Not that one I'm afraid. It was definitely a boy who was the main character. I'm now almost certain it was a short story and very likely part of a collection in one book. I think only that one story stuck in my mind as I was also very into Meccano when I was a kid.
