I loved the book and this series but I'm unclear as to who "it" was? Was she merely a figment of a derange mind? Was it Dianne or Hazel?

I was sure it was Alyssa, which of course, is what Jo wanted me to think. I hope she and Shanker will be minor characters in the next books.
