Author collaborations - how do I find one?

I'm thinking about possibly collaborating with other authors, mainly in the science fiction and fantasy categories, but to be honest I don't know how exactly to go about doing so. Also offering a few short stories I've written to fantasy or sci-fi short story collections. I realize this may sound like a no-brainer but I really don't know how to go about this or what to look for. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!
