How many hours does it take for you to read a book in one sitting? Indicate the number of pages and the font size. :)

Luz Patrizsa Hyacinth Villamor (aryadaenerys) This usually depends with the pace of the book and my mood. There are times when I feel like finishing a book for 1 week especially if it's a classic to savor every moment and there are also instances where my eyes are practically running and my brain can barely keep up because that's how interesting the book is and I'm not saying this out of exaggeration. To answer the question, well I read for like 3 hours on a 400-page 10 font-sized novel. Forgive my adjectives! ;)

And, please forgive my turtle-reading skills. I know you probably read like 700 pages for 2 hours or less, but, oh well. :)

Kace | The Booknerd (booksforkace) | 7 comments I am a one-sitting reader so I can finish a book with 400-500 pages for like 2-3 hours. But I know that sometimes just isn’t possible, it depends on my plans for the day. But as much as possible I try to finish a book in just one sitting because taking a break while reading never really worked for me. I go restless. :D

Patricia Hargraves | 94 comments I typically read a couple hundred pages a day. I always have multiple books going at the same time, so it isn't always a book a day. I confess that my eyesight is NOT 20/20 as it used to be so I like a larger font so I don't have to wear glasses.

message 4: by Bre (new)

Bre I'm a fairly slow reader. On average, I read about 100 pages a day, but if I really like the book I might read 200. It really just depends on what I'm doing that day and how much I like the book.

N | 276 comments If a book is brilliant then I will read till my eyes bleed! I read the entire Game of Thrones series in two weeks for example, on average I have only a few hours to read realistically so I'd say an 'average' book in maybe 4/5 hours but that can be split over 3 days.

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 1572 comments If a book is awesome and I have the time. It would take me about 4 1/2 hours to read a book that was 501 Kindle pages.

Ashley (age1213) | 20 comments I'm a fairly fast reader. For a murder mystery (300 ish pages with normal font) it just takes a few hours, sometimes I can read 2-3 a day depending on what else I do that day. Historical fiction, fantasy, YA, and other fiction novels take me about a day. And historical non-fictions take me a little longer to read because I like to take notes and process what I'm reading. Nothing makes me happier than to sit outside with a good book!! :)

Tess (books.with.tess) (bookswithtess) Wha..... Am I the only one who has a short attention span?? :D I really need to step up my game and try to finish a book....in a week... :S

message 9: by Avery (new)

Avery (averyy) I typically read about 60-80 pages per hour on fiction books. If it's nonfiction, I usually read at a slower rate than that. Just depends I guess.

Riri (ririreads) | 6 comments I do not count the hours but a 500page book only takes a few hours. If I am busy with something, it might take longer up to a week.

message 11: by Bea (new)

Bea (rias) Im not sure how big is the font but, it was i guess average ( not too small or too big), once i read a book of 500 pages in 6-7 hours :)

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren If im really getting into the book and just can not put it down then I could easily read a book of 500 pages in 6 hours at normal font.

message 13: by Adriano (new)

Adriano Bulla (adriano_bulla) | 19 comments It depends on my mood and on the book. I can go to a speed of up to 1,000/ 1,200 words per minute (3/4 pages) if I am in a good mood and with the right book, if I find the book uninteresting, I slow down enormously, and I do leave books unfinished.

-RininTa- (rinz) | 39 comments I'm a slow reader so probably I'll need 5 or 6 hours to finish a book with 300 pages. A book with less pages, let's say 250 pages, I can finish it for 2 or 3 hours. So it really depends on the book and my mood too.

message 15: by Aiysic (new)

Aiysic | 22 comments Depends on the book. If it's a total blah, it takes me about a week because I wouldn't give up on it. Then I hate myself for holding on to the hope that it would get better. If I'm into the book, it takes me about 5 or 6 hours. If I'm really into it, it takes me about two days. There are just some books that prod me to read some paragraphs over and over again just for sheer enjoyment :)

message 16: by Aiysic (new)

Aiysic | 22 comments Oh I forgot, number of pages = 500-800, font size = I guess 10?

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Depends on the language, actually. I can only read like 60 to 70 pages of normal sized English novel in an hour.
But it will only take like 5 hours for me to finish an Indonesian novel that's about 500 pages.

message 18: by Jim (new)

Jim Vuksic Most books I read contain 300 pages or more. It usually takes about a month to finish one; thanks to four adult children, four grandchildren, a fairly active social life, and a penchant for spontaneous road trips.

message 19: by Dorottya (new)

Dorottya (dorottya_b) | 66 comments Depends on my state of mind, how busy I am and how difficult the book is to read. Bestseller kind of stuff with easy language and an exciting plot, in my mother tongue, when I feel fresh, I can read at a minute / page rate.

Kelsie | 2 comments The fastest I've read a think book(Delerium by Lauren Oliver 441 pgs smallish font) was in 3hours I could not put it down.
