Marika | 187 comments According to IMDB it will be released Nov 21, 2014!!! I CANNOT wait!

I wonder where they will cut between Part 1 and Part 2? My bet...they will show Peeta strangling Katniss as we discovering he was hijacked...the end...I mean its a perfect cliffhanger and midpoint. Unfortunately. I already know I will be traumatized bcause hijacked Peeta depresses me so much :(

Sam | 606 comments OMG that would be the perfect place! Hope they do it! :D

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I'm excited. I hated the book and with the Hunger Games, I've been preferring the movie over the book. So yeah, high hopes for this one.

Ever since I heard they were splitting the movie I imagined it being the moment Peeta stranglers Katniss!! And I have to say, I am okay with it being two movies. There really is SOOOOOO much that goes on, I feel like for once it is not about making money, but rather doing the books justice!

I don't know how I am going to watch these movies though....I will literally be a HOT MESS for days!!!!!!!!

message 5: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments Yeah I agree...I'm glad its two movies. There would be way to much to cram into one movie. Plus I love the Hunger Games trilogy soooo I don't mind more even if it were a money thing lol!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments Josh Hutcherson keeps on hinting about "shirtless Peeta scenes". NEED THOSE!

Yes, I'm glad they're splitting it. That way, they can actually SHOW what's happening rather than Katniss narrating it like she's on downers.

message 7: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments I convinced my boss today to read the books before this installment comes out so he can go watch it with his daughter who is a huge fan. I think the town/arena will probably have way to much CGI. I am looking forward to Finnicks last scene, the guards in the net, prim in the town square and the rose room for some reason.

message 8: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments haha yeah Katniss was pretty depressed for like 90% of the book. I'm not criticizing her, I totally empathize, but it makes for a hard, emotional read.

I thought we already saw Snow's rose garden in the first movie. When he's talking with Seneca Crane.

message 9: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments Wasn't it a secret room in mocking jay full of all kinds of different species of roses?

message 10: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments hmm, no it just says that its a greenhouse that is a part of his home, it doesn't say that it was a secret room. I mean when you read the book though its from Katnis's perspective so it is a new discovery for her, and she is appalled that he isn't in a dungeon, so I can see how you would percieve it as a secret room. That's one of the things I enjoy about the movies...since they aren't from her perspective alone we get to see the gameroom with the gamemakers and Snow's interaction with Seneca Crane who wasn't even a fleshed out character in the books, but only a mere mention of someone who was murdered due to the results of her first games.

message 11: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments Yeah I do love the extra dialogue and scenes in the movies. I think the scene in the first movie ur referring to was outside in his garden :D I hate how no one mentions the roses smelling like death!! Coz it masks his decaying scent... But that would have been so sml a detail for them to make it an easy cut.

message 12: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments Yea I figured they would have mentioned the mixture of the smell of roses and the smell of blood on his breath due to the poison

message 13: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments Does anybody else think they're gonna split it when Katniss and everyone leaves to go to the Capitol and kill Snow?

message 14: by Marika (last edited Apr 04, 2014 01:15PM) (new)

Marika | 187 comments my theory is in the first comment in the thread :) that's a good thought too though!

message 15: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments It may be where it is stated that Snow's grand daughter is planned to be in the final hunger games

message 16: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments But that's just before Snow's execution?

message 17: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments No idea, read the book a long time ago, just seems like a good place to build suspense

message 18: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments yeah the final hunger games conversation was at the end, after the war was over and Dylan, you're right, right before Snow's death + Katniss shotting Coin. All that's left after that is Katniss being locked up, being crazy for a bit, going back home and epilogue.

message 19: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments Then I retract my statement, make the cut off before they go into the Capitol

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments Didn't one of the actors that was meant to play a lead role in Mockingjay die?

message 21: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments Yeah Philip Seymour Hoffman who plays Plutarch but he was almost finished filming and they are digitally recreating him for one scene! RIP :(

message 23: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments I've also heard that they are releasing a teaser trailer on 13 April, has anyone else heard that or is it just a rumour?

message 25: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments omg that would be awesome! I haven't heard that but hope its true. can't wait to see the trailers

message 26: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments Apparently we're getting it at the MTV awards!! :D

Now that the Maze Runner trailer is out I feel like I have enough happiness stored up for a little while, but give it another few weeks and I will be also dying for the MJ trailer as well!! haha

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments Oh the maze runner trailer look great!!

message 29: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments Is the maze runner book good? Because I've heard mixed things.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments Hmm, the trailer is good but kinda confusing, the maze runner is on my to-reads. About a boy with no memory of who he is and finds himself with loads of other boys and a maze

message 31: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments It seemed like a good book I got up to the part where the note on the person said "... Is the last one" then I had to return it to the library. Back in the list it goes

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments Ha ha, unlucky there

It was amazing! I loved the series way better than a few others I have read recently *COUGH COUGH* DIVERGENT! *COUGH COUGH* ;)

message 34: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments I loved Divergent? :/

message 35: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
The series, by the end, is a mess thought. So many plot holes and shallow characters. Not to mention the final act of "courage" (if you will) does not have enough meaning behind it to make it worth it..... I liked the first one well enough, but after that it for sure went down hill....

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments NO WAY!
Divergent is way better than the hunger games, although both the films suck. OK, i admit the hunger games has a better plot, but by the third book it was a complete mess, i didn't understand what was going on and i couldn't imagine ant of it, at least with the third Divergent book, i had a sense of what was happening

message 37: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
Really? Like honestly? I am having a hard time believe that based on all the review out there on how Divergent is very incomplete in so many ways and has characters we never really meet and know, many of which are suddenly introduced in Allegient. Like...I'm for sure not the only one who feels this way.

message 38: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments Really? I thought the Hunger Games' movie are incredible!! I think the hunger games is a much more powerful story than divergent but I still loved it! I agree with you Dana about the new characters in Allegiant that nobody cared about. I think I am going to try the maze runner, hope it's good!! :)

message 39: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments Whoa lets not bad mouth the girl on fire here

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments Hmph, all im saying is that the first Divergent series overall was better than the Hunger Games trilogy based on the way it was written. i agree, that Allegiant had bad new characters, but i understood what was happening, rather than in Mockingjay, where i wasn't processing what on earth was happening. Everyone i know who's read the third book in the hunger games agrees that it was a mess.

(sorry if that offends anyone.)

message 41: by Marika (new)

Marika | 187 comments Oh wow, that's interesting. i don't know anyone that think Mockingjay is a mess. I know people who don't like how depressed Katniss is, and people who don't like Suzanne Colins's writing style overal, but no one has ever said that Mockingjay doesn't make sense to them. I mean Katniss is going through so much ebecause she doens't know who to trust, people are duplicitious, its not cut and dry good and evil (I like that because real life is not black and white either) and well I think katniss has every right to be depressed and super messed up emotionally. I think i would ahve hated the book if she was fine and happy and got over all that mental trauma without a problem. I appreciate how realistic her post traumatic stress disorder is.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments maybe that's why i thought it was a mess, because Katniss's thoughts were scattered, likewise her feelings

message 43: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Alexander (dylanjalexander) | 45 comments I know many people didn't like Mockingjay because it was so different to the first two books but I liked it because it was very realistic and displayed the consequences of war and violence without sugar coating it. And Katniss' feelings and emotions were very relatable to the situation that she was in. In the epilogue of the book, she still hasn't moved on after everything that has happened to her even though it has been a long time since the revolution and I feel that Mockingjay had a very valuable lesson to it. I am really excited to see how they translate this into a movie. I know it's going to be good because the first two were excellent and they have a lot of time to work with because it's in two parts!

Bookloverhugger wrote: "maybe that's why i thought it was a mess, because Katniss's thoughts were scattered, likewise her feelings"

This comment confuses me even more, considering how messed up all of Tris' thoughts are in the second and third book. Between her keeping secrets, sneaking off to plan things without telling people, and also her terribly un-healthy relationship with Four she is more of a mess than someone who was put into a death ring for sport.... Sure, Katniss was confused, but it was about situations she could not control. Her hand was forced all the time, causing her emotional confusion and anxiety. Where as Tris made stupid choices, and then never really seemed to decide what to do herself until the last second...or even after the fact. Katniss has more reasons to be "crazy" but held it together better than Tris, and also did not have a crappy plot and weak characters around her the whole time as well.... With Allegiant the action in the book was such a mess on it's own that even without the emotional whatever it could never hold a candle to Hunger Games (and of the books....)

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments OK, look,

i agree that Allegiant has a crappy plot
All im saying is that Mockingjay just didn't make much sense to me and others i've known how have read it. And yes, Katniss couldn't control the situations, but nor could Tris, the way they handle them are not the problem here.
AND HER RELATIONSHIP WITH FOUR WAS NOT UNHEALTHY!!

How about i clear this up: in my opinion, the Divergent series was better than the Hunger games overall, despite both of the third books being the worse in the trilogies

Divergent vs. Hunger Games= Winner-Divergent

I'm fine with your opinion, I am just trying to understand it as well as give me thoughts as well. Sorry if you feel it is a personal attack, but we don't need to start yelling and getting really worked up here....

As for the relationship between Tris and Four...they kept secrets from one another, were always giving ultimatums to one another, and did not communicated at all. That is not a healthy relationship for adults or teenagers or anyone.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 155 comments True, but i wouldn't put it as 'un-healthy' because that really breaks my heart. Alot.

http://love.allwomenstalk.com/warning...

Google would agree it was un-healthy. This was the first of MANY articles after a quick search.
