Oh wow! Now that would be awesome!

While I understand your point of view, I never write in books. Never, ever. I have over 800 books listed on my TBR. I have read 125 books so far this year. I estimate I will need to live to be about 200 years old to read just what I have already, lol

I had to comment about not writing in your books. Just this year I was reading a book which I seem to remember being around all my life but never knew what it was about. Half way thru it , what do I find but notes written by my grandfather over 80 years ago. He had died at the age of 96 when I was 8 years old. I write in my books.

That would truly be something to treasure. I have several books that my grandmother had put up and saved for me. They are books that she read to me as a child. I loved being able to read them with my kids and grand kids as well.
I know several people that like to make notes in books as they read them or to underline or highlight passages, if those are their books, all is good. I was not saying what anyone else should do, just that I would not write in my books. If I was going to do it, it would most likely be to make note of errors that I find.

I should clarify writing in books from my personal perspective. I have within my collection of owned books, what I consider my prized and most beloved books. These books I do not write in, lend out or mishandle in any way shape or form. These book are in my private collection in my bedroom. I have yet to establish a library room.
The books I typically write in are those that cover topics such as philosophy, Poetry, science and those within my major from my college days. I've kept these books with the notes and had written in them because I wanted to remember (visually) my thoughts, my tone of voice and of course the words of some of my professors. Whenever I re-read these tiny notes at the corner of the page (all in pencil of course). I remember how I felt and what was going through my head at that time back then.
