Ch. 18 (since no one posted yet)

Meria -(view spoiler)[ I like her as queen in this book, but I think she needs some more confidence in herself as queen. Meria is taking risks that she doesn't think she should be doing, but if she didn't do that what kind of book would it be for us? I don't understand if there is still a love triangle going on or if the author is trying to rap that up with the bedroom scene right before they left. (hide spoiler)]

Theron-(view spoiler)[ So far I don't like him in this book. It would be a hard choice between your country your suppose to rule one day and the person your in love with. I feel like he needs to decide between them though, mostly because he is hurting Meria right now and she don't know if she can trust him. (hide spoiler)]

Ceridwen-(view spoiler)[ I really what we have seen of her so far. I think Meria needs a strong girl friend that knows what it feel like to be in a hight position. I like that she hates her brother because I hate her brother. I hope that maybe she will continue the journey with Meria all through the book but then she couldn't help her people. I think Summer desperately needs that help right now. (hide spoiler)]

The Children of the Thaw -(view spoiler)[ I like where this is going and it would be good for Meria to have some warriors to turn too. I don't know if they will do that or if they will be a kind of Robbin Hood and do their own thing. I can't wait to see where they are going though. (hide spoiler)]

Keys -(view spoiler)[ I hope Meria finds all the keys or at least one that Theron doesn't know about. I don't think they should open that door! I'm guessing it will happen anyway. That's just my guess though. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 5(view spoiler)[I didn't expect they will found the chasm that fast. And it's a bit sad Meira choose Theron instead of Mather Don't get me wrong, he is cute and has that geeky feeling in him but he's no Mather, and I don't like his father. And when Theron just say that they found the chasm to his father it was making me like him less and less. I don't know if he's obsessed as much as his father for power or it's just the curiosity in him. It's too bad Mather's POV only got one chapter in the first five but I hope we'll see more of him in the future. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 10(view spoiler)[I wish Mather would join Meira in her journey. He was needed as an instructor in the palace, I know, but still. It's good that Meira start taking decision against Noam even though it's the wrong one but that's okay, she'll learn politics eventually. And the way Theron so innocently believed in the eternal peace just so naive.Even if eight kingdoms sign the alliance, there will always be someone like Angra around. Speaking of, He died right? I was so sure he died in the first book, but Meira's anxiety that he's still alive start eating my confidence. Maybe he did die but his magic was looking for some other host or something? Because yes, the way it just disappear and vanish didn't exactly comforting. (hide spoiler)]

Here are my thoughts about the book.

I believe this is because when I read the first book I was one a reading frenzy and the book didn't have time to sink into my long term memory. haha. Once I got into the book I read when I could. I didn't see the twist coming with Theron and the darkness. I knew he was acting weird, but I thought it was because he was trying to impress his father. All in all I am not surprised a take over happened though. I'm excited to read the next book. (hide spoiler)]

I agree Mandiann, I am having a hard time remembering who is who and what happened in the previous book. I am sure it will come back to me the further I get.

Couldn't he just say something like he needs to speak to his queen first or as a person in charge in his queen absence he couldn't fulfilled Noam's request -though it's an order-. I mean, really?!

What would happen now that three people are using decay while one decay user is already bad? Oh I am so excited for the next book! (hide spoiler)]
