*Father did not know he had a daughter
*Daughter shows up at door (I think she's about 10 years old)
*Mother is a doctor
*Fathers family is Hispanic and do not like mother or child... until the end
*Mother of Father disapproves
*Mother and Father were High school sweethearts
*Daughter hates grandmother (Mom's mother) and has to stay with her
*Mother still lives with grandmother

I read this book this year.
The daughter has been living with her mother all these years and the father did not know about it. She is between the ages of 9-12.
I believe the daughter knocks on the father's door and tells him she thinks he's her father.
