Synthesis of UK/US punctuation that seems to work for most readers

It's been so hard developing a punctuation style that works for most people over most of the English-speaking world (especially US and UK). Here it is applied to a short story. Feel free to use/modify it:

It would be beneficial if you made an article or a post detailing your punctuation style. It is difficult for me to read the story and try to parse what the differences are and I think a higher level overview of what you are doing and why it helps would be of value.
