So this is a SUPER stretch but I'm reading The Tudor Secret and there are definitely conniving lords / higher ups who send others to do their evil bidding.
Rebecca,The Secret Keeper on your challenge shelf doesn't have read date so spreadsheet doesn't pick it up.
I think you might have two different editions shelved.

I have an interjection book as well as an undertaker book, I just havent had time to read them yet.
Query about the minion goal: Do they need names or can they be nameless? As in evil person has sent people to kill MC but failed and they die so we don't know their names.

I know that when I add book or tag it somehow from app it usually goes with default edition no matter what I already have on shelves.

Halfway to the Grave might work then because the vampire (Hennessey) uses minions to kidnap/kill people and attempts in on MC.

I'm reading my Naughty or nice book right now and after that I'll be reading the interjection one. I also have on my TBR one with a sleigh on cover and one with an undertaker.

Finally found (shortish) book with water in the title. Looks like most of titles I have with water-themed words have sea in them - only word we don't need :)

From what I can tell, we don't have a book matching japan or any variation as of yet. Still searching but it's not looking promising.
