- Read a book where a character is a succubus/incubus

- Read a book which has the main location (setting) as a bus, train, or other road based vehicle

- Read a book where the first word of the text is They

- Read a book where the title includes an ampersand

- Read a book where a character is cranky without coffee or chocolate

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9625 comments I can't remember if there was any mention of crankiness in Pretty Girls?
I remember that mom was solving everything with food and sleep, and I remember that Lydia made coffee for Claire when they were at her house, but not if anyone was cranky without it.

Eventually found it. It had slipped between the mattress and headboard of my bed! I completely agree about wanting to call it Tina

message 459: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9625 comments OK so looks I got it little wrong.
If we want to use boon we have now, we have to use it by tomorrow.

As far as I know, nobody is reading for briefcase and succubus/incubus goal.
Wanna boon one of them?

message 460: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5690 comments Mod
I'm happy for you to use it on any of the current goals! Those 2 make sense

Yeah still in one piece with all my books on it! One of the most stressful times I've had for a while

Jotunheim -(1/5) - Read a book set on the farm/ranch - Husband Fur Hire (They live on a ranch)

Good that the Kindles in one piece. I think I have to get a new one, the one I brought last year is broken and I think my older one's battery is giving up on me :(

message 464: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5690 comments Mod
Is the broken one in warranty? Amazon were v good when I told them my 1st one was broken - sent a replacement free of charge.

The worst thing I've done with the kindle was leave it on a bed in a hostel in Vancouver. Realised quickly enough to email them and they kept it in a safe for me for a month until I could get back and pick it up.

message 465: by Nicole B (new)

Nicole B | 185 comments Not any more, I brought it to go Japan for a year, and then it broke and I couldn't get it home in time for it to be fixed under warranty :(

Sophie (drsophie) | 5690 comments Mod
That's rubbish. Japan for a year must have been interesting

message 467: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments Hey gals. Sorry i haven't been around much. I've been sick and not in a reading mood. Thankfully Tea and Stacie are awesome! (which i already knew =D )

Regarding our boon, we have 27 hours to make a decision. So let's take a vote today. What does everyone think we should use it on?

message 468: by [deleted user] (new)

I think we should use it on succubus/incubus tbh.

message 469: by Rebecca (last edited Nov 20, 2015 07:36AM) (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments I also think we should use it on succubus/incubus! It's just so specific.

message 470: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments Nicole you have Just a Bit Twisted (Straight Guys, #1) and Just a Bit Obsessed (Straight Guys #2) on your read shelf. Could you put them on your Tower Teams shelf as well please? =)

message 471: by Rebecca (last edited Nov 20, 2015 07:38AM) (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments Question:

So just by accident in the book I'm reading is the sentence "he and I will be together, and we'll all be able to come out of the closet"....referring to revealing their secrets. And then it happens.

Even though this is not the traditional meaning of "coming out of the closet" would it still work since she specifically describes it that way?

i'll be reading next Succubus Blues =p so that's covered.

i would say yes just because it's the exact phrasing. Although we currently don't have that goal anymore xD

message 474: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5690 comments Mod
In that case I'd go either for the briefcase or a book beginning with They (unless someone is reading for those...)

Hope you're feeling much better Eni and stay that way!

I'm all for briefcase goal. I do have few Grisham's book that have them on cover, but right now I'm not in mood for them and I can't really fit them into my other team challenges.

I'd be fine with booning the briefcase.

message 479: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments I have a question about what counts as a "character" (sorry if it's been asked before).
If there are "flashbacks" with characters in them, do they count? I am trying to write down all the character names for goals and I'm just not sure. In Career of Evil Cormoran does A LOT of remembering his past and so there are long extended scene that are his "memories".

message 480: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I say briefcase for the boon

Oh I remember his flashbacks from previous books. Usual ruling for flashbacks and characters is that if they are significant (part) of the story, they count.

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments I am still reading the book for the 'They' goal. Sun night I came down with a major cold, fever, sore throat, cough, and lost my voice for a few days so I haven't been in as much of a reading mood this week and have been doing a lot of sleeping. That book is one that takes more concentration to read, but I plan to have it done on Sunday.

I haven't been this sick for such a long time in years, and since we were short-staffed at work, I didn't really feel like I could take all those days off, so I was also going to work at least part of the day and then just falling into bed and sleeping for 12 hrs afterward.

I'm fine with however we use the boon.
