That's two bad, but 2 out of three is not bad. I will participate in the discussion so still 20 points. For next months BOM's I've only signed up for the Neil Gaiman - American Gods BOM. The other books are difficult to get for me and a bit too expensive to buy.
I signed up for Uprooted and American Gods. I read the other one a month or two ago.
I'll still be participating too on 6 crows

Finished reading Saint Anything which fits the character gets into shape goal :)
Used Saint anything for the character gets into shape goal.
Used Tiger Lily for the goal of "the word wolf, lion, bear, tiger in title" read by Wren.
Used In the Cards for the goal of "main genre paranormal" read by Imke
New Goal Read a book with the name of the tarot card "Temperance" in the text or title

You don't have to read by schedule. It's there so we have some sort of structure and that even slower readers can work through book. Some people do read it sooner and then wait with discussion. (I think with Pretty Girls half of us was done before break day :P) I know I can't read by schedule, so I usually start reading it later and then finish it with more-less no stopping to wait for discussion. Then I go back and discuss each part as it comes, and try to not reveal what will happen later.
You don't have to answer questions on a day it was posted, but when it suits you. Although, I'm not sure how can you do that before they were asked :P
If you don't want to do with answers, that's fine. Questions are there to stimulate discussion. You can also start chatting without questions, just make sure you are clear about what part are you discussing (for example, start your post with chapter) and use spoiler tags.
You don't have to answer all questions but you need to have some kind of discussion. So having one post after finishing book saying it was so and so, won't work.

It works for the goal:
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the ʺtop shelvesʺ of the book) as 21st-century - plurals and minor spelling variations

Thanks for the clarification!
New Goal: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as modern-classics - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
I'm in the middle of The Good Earth as an audiobook. It meets this goal. None of the goalless seemed to.

One of the captains actually needs to run a script/program to pull the new books into the spreadsheet.
As long as you have your book on your TT shelf and have it marked as read with a date read, you did everything you needed to do.
One of the 3 of us will likely be updating the spreadsheet later tonight. We try to mark the Thor Books Read thread when we update the spreadsheet (this is why you sometimes see the comment of 'spreadsheet updated' in posts from Dragana/Imke/me).
So if your book was posted and there isn't an 'updated' comment in a later post, likely we haven't gotten a chance to update everything.
Hopefully this long winded explanation makes sense and answered your question.

now i just need to figure out what im going to read next...

Throne of Glass is one of my all time faves!! I haven't even started the fourth one yet though because I'm afraid of it based off some things that happened in the third
Tori wrote: "i'm trying to figure out the top shelves thing for the goal and modern romance has '21st-century' as the top one on the third column. does that count?"
Yes, it counts! I'll mark it off as complete :)

Completed goals:
-Top Shelf 21st Century: Modern Romance read by Tori
-Top Shelf Modern Classics: The Good Earth read by Judith
-Adjective in title: Pretty Girls read by Imke
-Top Shelf as Own: The Host read by Wren
New Goals:
Read a book with no labeled chapters
Read a book with a truck on the cover
Let us know if one of the previous books you read had no labeled chapters. That isn't something we have on tracked on the goalless book tab.
Remember if you want to see the 5 open goals I have them here: Open Goals

Andrea wrote: "I have a question and it may seem stupid so bear with me, but if someone else has read a book and I am currently reading a book they posted, does it still count towards the challenge if I read it t..."
No stupid questions, there are a lot of moving parts with this challenge :)
Yes, it still counts. Books are recorded per team member. The best example we have is The Child Thief that was the first BOM. Both Imke and Tori read the book.
It's one of the main reasons books are recorded by team member, so if they read the same book we don't lose out on points (book points, BOM point, goals, etc).

My mother popped in for unexpected visit. She's uses up all my free time that my kid doesn't. :/ She should leave by Wednesday, so I will have time again to help. (And post update about books read).

Thanks for the clarification, I was worried because there are a few books that I have scheduled to read that other people have. The child thief I could not make it through sadly, it just didn't grasp my attention like other books I have read.

No worries, enjoy time with your family! And around Wednesday afternoon through part of the weekend I won't be around much since it's American Thanksgiving on Thursday.
I think we have a couple Canadians on the team so for them their Thanksgiving was a month ago :)

Also Canadian! I have also not been doing so great on the reading largely because of a mix of schoolwork and having cold/flu/bronchitis problems for the path month and a half which made it hard to concentrate on much of anything. But I seem to be getting better(knock on wood) and the semester ends next week so I should be getting a lot more reading done this December

In Serbia we don't have this holiday (and my mother is gone) so I'm back and free to update spreadsheet when needed. :)
I'm in a mood for romance novels lately. I a, binge reading them like crazy. The snow is falling outside and they are warm and cozy. :)
Great news about that book without labeled chapters Andrea! Just let us know in books read when you are finished.
The person I mooched The Practice from on bookmooch mailed the book (and a book with a rainbow on the cover that I found in her inventory so I'll be able to take care of that mini challenge category) yesterday so hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week.
Grisham books aren't short but they are quick reads so I should be able to knock out that goal shortly after the book gets here.
Anyone have a book with a truck on the cover? Everything I have with vehicles on the cover are cars and maybe a motorcycle or two.

yes, that would work! pick-up is a type of truck and the terms are often used interchangeably for these types of vehicles.
In the US, whether you'd call that a 'truck' or a 'pick-up' is partially related to where in the country you live.

I thought so too, but since I'm not from US, I wanted to check the lingo.
Then I'm on it. And since I am on romance-reading-binge, it will be done by tomorrow.
Now I need to enter all the books I have read in the last couple of days. ;)

I checked the Goals FAQ and they say: "No chapters at all. So, not numbered or named."

Used The Forgotten (read by sonya) for goal: "Read a book where the author's first name is one of the top 100 male names in Sweden according to nameberry"

- Read a book whose author died 2-5 years ago
- Read a book with a briefcase on the cover
- Read a book with the name of the tarot card "Temperance" in the text or title
- Read a book with no labeled chapters
- Read a book with an alternate history
Goals for mini-challenge:
We are doing great here, just a couple of trickier ones are missing for us to conquer all the worlds. ;)
- Read a book with rainbow on the cover
- Read book featuring elves
- Read book set in New Zealand
- Read book with dragon
- Read book set in southern hemisphere

Dragana/Imke: Tori let me know that The Child Thief has elves in it. So we can change one of the mini challenge categories we used for either her or Imke's read of the book and take care of that open category too.
I'm on my phone app or I'd make the change myself. Could one of you do it?
I have a book coming from bookmooch for the rainbow. So that should just leave New Zealand & southern hemisphere we'll have everything at least once for the mini challenge.

If you are referring to Impulse, read by Andrea, then sadly poem titles count as chapter labels, so no goal completed.
If not, then tell me which book fits the goal and I will enter it. :)
And have a happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.
Give us some food pics. ;)

Used The Geography of You and Me (read by me) for goal: "Read a book Where MC is going to high school/college"
New goal: Read a book with a truck on the cover
Wide Sargasso Sea doesn't have labeled chapters so that goal is taken care of.
Used Immortal City read by Andrea for black and white cover.
Used Before He Finds Her: A Novel read by Judith for begins with preposition.
New Goal:
Read a book that has the birthstone Alexandrite in the text or title

Yeah, I saw the new goal and thought "crap, seriously?"
Why couldn't we get a normal birthstone, like diamonds or rubies?

Read a book with a rainbow on the cover so one more mini-challenge world down.
I'm getting ready to start a book for the briefcase goal after I finish up Six of Crows for BOM.
What would be super is if someone has a book that takes place in New Zealand and contains the word Alexandrite ;)
