Good catch, Judith. I completely missed the word :)"

When I was getting ready to add Catching Fire to the goalless tab, the chariot scenes popped into my head. Luckily I have this series on my Nook so it was a quick search.

As for the new goals, I can easily grab either one of them depending on what other people are reading. So if you are reading something that works for one, let me know and I'll read something for the other one.

message 852: by [deleted user] (new)

I just found a self published author with one book in Amazon. I'll work on that goal next.

Go Wren! That is a harder one, I've seen it several times up for boon requests by other teams

message 854: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Used The Nightingale read by me for goal: Read a book that contains the word tomato

Used The Winner's Curse read by Wren for goal: Read a book where the title starts with the letter W

New goal: Read a book that is in the "Favorite books from my childhood" Listopia List (https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...)

It's good I saw this since I didn't start it yet. I am then going to read A Daughter of No Nation for parallel worlds goal.

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments Um is it worth pointing out if one of the books you used for a goal didn't actually fit?

Which one? Yours? When I enlarged the book cover that popped up I could see train wheels in the picture so I used it.

Did the wrong cover come up?

message 858: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7477 comments Mod
I just doubled checked covers and somehow I popped up a cover for a non-English version with a closer picture of a train. Ummm, oops. If one of the covers works, does it matter?

I know it's only 5 points and doubt it's going to make a difference but I feel like I accidentally cheated or something.

The bizarre thing is I'm not sure how I managed to do it in the first place

I know how it happened, that edition is linked in the spreadsheet.

Oh, well then I feel a lot less stupid about the whole thing :)

message 861: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments Sorry, Goodreads didn't have my cover. I got it from the library and it looked like they took the dust jacket off. So maybe the train is the right cover! Either way like you said it's only 5 pts

message 862: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson ive taken a couple days off so sort family stuff (youd think they could sort out themselves rather than leaving it to the youngest person in the family) but i started White Night today

message 863: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) If you feel bad we can erase that book and use/read another one for that goal. We will have 6 goals but it will all sort out. Next time we will not get a goal.
(In previous challenge, my team made similar mistake and that's what we did.)

Well now the book ID number is different so it's showing a man. I only realized it changed because now it's popping up as an unused/not on the goalless tab book. {sigh}

I remember the cover showed the train because I entered it into goalless tab.
Probably Caroline changed edition to fit her cover...

message 867: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments I changed to the hardcover English edition. The default was paper back Italian. But, my book didn't actually have a cover. Im sorry I didn't think about the cover being used for a goal. I should have noted that it didn't have a cover. I can switch it back to the default till the end of the challenge if it helps.

message 868: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9629 comments There are few librarians (Kelly and Karen I know of) in captains group, so you can ask there for cover to be added

If you don't mind using the default, that would make things less confusing in the spreadsheet

Does it count if a character eats souls because I have a book for that?

message 873: by Judith (new)

Ummm, not sure. I'll ask the mods and get back as soon as I have an answer

FYI, Wren I still haven't gotten a clear answer about the soul eating counting from the mods

message 877: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I found Unleashed (Uninvited, #2) by Sophie Jordan on my tbr that has double helix on the cover (it's made of her hair).

Judith (brownie72011) | 7477 comments Mod
Oh, nice. I looked through my stash and came up empty for that one.

message 879: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Judith. If the soul-eating doesn't count, I found a zombie book where people get eaten that would actually work for the goal. I'll probably get it started tomorrow at the earliest.

message 880: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7477 comments Mod
We should probably go with the zombie book. They were leaning towards no more than yes. And saying the soul eating was closer to dementors, which wasn't what they were really going for.

But if other mods weigh in on the discussion and the answer changes I'll let you know. The strict mod answered first. Boo!

I found a Q book that I can start either today or tomorrow depending on how things go.

FYI everyone, I think we are getting into the home stretch of the challenge.

The projected end date (when a team is likely to hit 25,000 points) is Monday, Jan 25th. So there is around 6 days left in the challenge.

Now would be a good time to go to the team spreadsheet and look on your individual tab. Make sure all your books are there that should be. If something is missing go to your Tower Team shelf and check to make sure the missing books are there and the DATE READ is set correctly (and is between Nov 7th and today).

If there is no date read set or if it is before Nov 7th, it will not be on the spreadsheet and Dragana, Imke, and I will not be able to fix it until you correct the date.

Thanks guys :)

A lot of goalless books have library tag. To me it's similar. What so you think. Should we ask the mods?

Normally I would agree with you and ask the mods, but I checked the list of goals and "top shelf of library" is a separate goal. So their answer would be no.

If anyone really enjoys team challenges and is looking to do another one, Perks of Being a Book Addict is doing the UNO Challenge again.

I did it last year and thought it was a lot of fun. It doesn't start until March so there is a bit of a break after Tower Teams is over. But sign ups have started.
