Used: The Night Voice read by me for book published in the last month.

New goal: Read a book that is on your "to read" shelf that has the highest number of pages

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Judith wrote: "New goal: Read a book that is on your "to read" shelf that has the highest number of pages"

For me that's 1080 pages. I think I will skip this one. :D

Imke (immie75) | 1644 comments For me it's 2935 (it's an anthology) I don't think I will take it either.

message 805: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Kelemen | 252 comments My highest is 4211 pages. I think it's supposed to be the longest book ever written. I hope someone has a more reasonable tbr shelf or we might have to use a boon!

I'm thinking with this goal, the 2004 top shelf goal, and all ears goal, we are getting close to a good use of our mega boon

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Judith wrote: "I'm thinking with this goal, the 2004 top shelf goal, and all ears goal, we are getting close to a good use of our mega boon"

I just finished book for another goal and I'm starting book for "all ears". So we got that goal covered at least.

message 808: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Used Feral Sins read by me for goal: Read a book that is in the ""Funny as Hell!"" Listopia List

New goal: Read a book with the phrase "Best of both worlds" in a book

message 809: by Dragana (last edited Jan 11, 2016 01:46AM) (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Used Neverland read by me for goal: Read a book with the phrase "all ears" in a book

New goal: Read a book with fruit on the cover

Other available goals (just a reminder):
- Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2004 - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
- Read a book where a character is a ghost
- Read a book that is on your "to read" shelf that has the highest number of pages
- Read a book with the phrase "Best of both worlds" in a book

ETA: I found the book I own Undead and Unwed that will work for '2004' goal and I'm going to read it next.

That's good news about the 2004 top shelf goal! I think we had that one before (although maybe it was 2003) and we ended up using a boon on it.

I'm almost done with The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer which should knock out the last U on the mini challenge. Then I can start First Frost which has an apple on the cover (unless someone beats me to the fruit goal).

Great Snoya. I love that series and that's my favorite book in it.

Does it mean you have finished Cinder (I remember you posted when you started it)? It's not showing on spreadsheet as read...

I just finished Undead and Unwed. I had no clue that it fits any of our goals. I actually started it for the "U" in the title for the spell out mini challenge.

It's OK Imke. I'm sure we'll use my book for something. ;) I'm also done too. It was fun, although with a lot more sex then I anticipated. How did you like it?

message 816: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Used Undead and Unwed read by Imke for goal: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2004

It was ok, but I don't think I will read other books in the series. I didn't like the main character very much.

I used the two books I just finished to complete the word "SIXTH" in the mini challenge. That only leaves the letter Y and we'll be done with spelling out the words.

message 819: by Imke (new)

Imke (immie75) | 1644 comments Used Bound read by me for the goal read a book with the phrase "Best of both worlds".

Used Sleep No More read by Andrea for the new goal Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as books - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

New Goal: Read a book with the word walk, run, stroll, crawl or climb (plurals are acceptable) in the title

Rest of the goals:
- Read a book where a character is a ghost

- Read a book with fruit on the cover
- Read a book that has the birthstone Garnet in the text or title

Finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it fits the ghost goal. Mourning Myrtle, a girl ghost that hides in the girl's restroom makes an appearance in this book.

lol that was quick

Im gonna start reading The Light Fantastic but im not looking forward to it but if I want to move onto all the others then I need to get it done

message 824: by Alex (new)

Alex | 1018 comments Tori you don't need to do them in order. If you didn't enjoy Colour of Magic I'd skip straight to Equal Rites (#3) and Mort (#4) before trying Light Fantastic again.

Tori Coulson u might do that zee. I've been reading pratchett all my life but I've got loads of one's missing randomly so I thought I'd start from the beginning but that's not much point if it's not fun

I'm almost done with the book for the fruit goal. And while I seem to have read almost every book I'd be interested in on the Listopia "Everyone's read it but me" list, I do have If I Stay which I've been meaning to read for a long time.

Used: A Darker Shade of Magic read by Zee for kindle version having between 400 and 499 pages.

Used: Unwound read by Imke for book set in Post Modern time period.

New goal: Read a book where the same consonant appears in the title at least 8 times

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Lately, none of the goals inspire me to pick something for them. Sorry. I hope I am going to pull myself out of the goal slump soon. :/

I'm currently reading The Nightingale (and participating in BOM) and Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances.

I'm not really a fan of most of our goals right now either. Once I finish If I Stay, depending on our new goal, we may want to consider the mega boon.

What are people's thoughts on using the mega boon? I'm not really a fan of any of our current goals.

I have a book for 'garnet' goal. The Fifth Season I am just preoccupied to read it. Can't read it parallel with other books since it's pretty complex. I can do it after The Nightingale BOM is done.

I love speculative fiction and I think I can probably dig something to fit that goal. (If none of the currently read books apply).

I didn't see anything that fit on the goalless tab for speculative fiction

*grumbles* OK I am going to look for something that fits and read it tomorrow.

message 837: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I am still stuck in three books and don't have time to read another one for the current goals. (Probably not going to until Monday - it's a busy weekend.)
It seems that no one else is interested in any of current goals.
Maybe you were right Judith and we should use mega-boon. What do you think?

message 838: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7477 comments Mod
I'm thinking at this point we should use the mega boon, we don't have much time left to use it. Might as well cut our losses and use it.

I'll put the request in.

Used: The Score read by Dragana for top shelf of tbr.

Used: Maybe Someday read by me for Listopia Best Love Stories list.

New goals:

Read a book with playing cards suit on the cover or in the title (Club, Spade, Heart, Diamond)
Read a book with parallel worlds
Read a book with the name of the tarot card "The Chariot" in the text or title
Read a book from a self published author that only has one published book on amazon
Read a book that contains the word tomato

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Fow goal "Read a book with playing cards suit on the cover or in the title (Club, Spade, Heart, Diamond)" - Does it have to be a shape or can real diamond do? Big Rock has diamond ring on the cover.

message 845: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Just noticed that tomatoes are mentioned in The Nightingale so that goal will be taken care of in a day or two, as soon as we finish reading it for the BOM. :)

I asked the mods about your diamond question. They said it needs to be the shape since it's based on the cards

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Judith wrote: "I asked the mods about your diamond question. They said it needs to be the shape since it's based on the cards"

Too bad. Well it's still easy to find something with word in title option...

I found the word 'the chariot' in text of Golden Son so that's what I am reading next.

Used: Cowgirl Up and Ride read by Imke for man on cover.

Used: If on a Winter's Night a Traveller read by Caroline for wheel on cover.

New goals:

Read a book where the title starts with the letter H.

Sort your "to read" shelf by 'date added' and read a book that is within Numbers 201-250 on your list (the first column before the book cover image)
