oh good, I was wondering what to do about that goal. And free is prefect. Hopefully it's a at least moderately enjoyable!

Sadly it's not set under the sea. :/ I'm putting it on hold and I'll read Deep Blue instead. I am determined - that goal is going down. :)

What are people's thoughts on using a boon to swap out the 81-90 chapter goal?

In searching through my various stacks of books, the highest I've gotten is 72. Or does someone have a book that fits?

We have about a week or so until our current boon expires.

message 563: by Imke (new)

Imke (immie75) | 1644 comments Go for it, I think it will be difficult to fill that goal. The 61-70 chapters I might be able to do.

Read a book with a fireplace on the cover for 10 points!

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I snooped on other teams and the books that have 81+ chapters they used are: We Were Liars and Carry On. I don't own them and frankly I am not interested to read them, but maybe some from the team is?

Actually I have We Were Liars. It's thin book so I didn't think to check it. I can read it after I finish with the pig book. I don't want to forget about the Days of TT goals since those are double points.

Just checked on Amazon ebook preview. 87 chapters. And it's less than 300 pages. Weird. But I'm glad to hear we got that goal covered. :)

I am searching currently for 'cornucopia' word in text but all ebooks that have it I have already read. Neanderthal Seeks Human has it. Pretty fun romance, if anyone is interested. And it's free for kindle... ;)

ETA: I am going to read something with green cover. No sure which book yet...
ETA2: What do you think. Can The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson work?

Maybe, it's got kind of a green tone to it but I'm not sure the mods would agree. They seem to be pretty picky about colors and whether or not the color is at least 50% of the cover. I'd probably ask them.

I am listening to Garden Spells (Waverley Family, #1) by Sarah Addison Allen as an audiobook which is pretty green. But it'll work for other goals eventually and I didn't start it with the holiday goal in mind. I keep hoping to come across cornucopia while listening to it though.

I didn't start it because on closer inspection I decided it's more yellow.
I started Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children for kids/children goal instead.

I'm going to read Sweep in Peace for the cornucopia goal after I read We Were Liars for the chapter goal.

I've wanted to read the Innkeeper books for awhile and I saw someone used it for the cornucopia goal on another team. Seemed like a good reason to move it up my to-read list.

I should be finishing Pigs in Heaven later today.

I love Innkeeper series. Although, they are connected so you should not read them out of order. (Also Sweep in peace kinda features characters from The Edge series too.)

Just because they don't work for a current goal, doesn't mean they won't for a future one. That's how sometimes we have posts with 5 or so goals checked off. We keep using things on the goalless tab until we get to something that doesn't have a match.

This is supposed to be for fun, read what appeals :)

So many nominees on the goalless tabs, but no winners. How irritating! I have Red Queen sitting here, waiting to be read. I'll start that one today.

We have a boon for swapping out a goal that expires at the end of the week. So start thinking about what we want to swap out.

Caroline is working on the prehistory goal, I've got the Goodreads Choice winner, I don't think the wheel one will be that hard.

So I'm thinking either the chapter goal or the poker goal. What are people's thoughts?

message 597: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Currently I am reading What Happens At Christmas (Millworth Manor, #1) by Victoria Alexander for Days Of TT goals. It has sleigh and snow, so we can pick where to use it.
After that I can read a book for chapter goal. I found one that fits.
So my vote goes for poker goal (if some trickier does not appear until the end of the week).
