adding my book for consideration

You can nominate your book on the thread for group read nominations each month. Members then vote, and the book (or sometimes 2 books) receiving the most votes becomes that month's group read.

Speaking only for myself, however, I would not be inclined to vote for a book nominated by its own author. There are other threads on this board where authors are specifically encouraged to tell us about/promote their books.

That is one of the rules we try to enforce when it comes to group reads, Douglas. Basically we don't allow authors or publishers to nominate their books. As Deborah says, we did create a thread for authors to promote and discuss their books. Check the Author's corner thread for an applicable thread.
