Scott Burke | 4 comments Greetings! I hope this post finds you all well. This group has been a great find, and just by looking at the other authors on show in this folder, I know I've got some great reads to look forward to!
For any Australiana fans amongst you, I hope that my novel, The Ancient Isle, may entertain you with some much needed bushfires, solar power wielders and evil blue-tongue lizards, which I have found to be sorely lacking in all the other books I've read!
I have a Goodreads giveaway starting on October 13th, so I hope I may be able to add something original to at least a few lucky reader's libraries.
Thanks for the opportunity to promote my work and all the best.

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 206 comments Very cool. The world of books definitely needs more evil blue-tongues.

/cheers from another writer&reader in Australia (even though I'm a transplant from another land)! Nice to meet you. And good luck with your giveaway :-)

Sincerely,

Gaines

Yes, they can be quite temperamental. I nearly jumped on one once and he was most displeased! G'day to you, Good Sir. I hope your adoptive land is treating you well, and I must say that you have very good taste in where you've chosen to spend your days. Hope the summer broils you nicely and keep up the fine work!

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 206 comments Hehe thank you very much. The recent heat wave singed my hide nicely, and the drop bears have been very welcoming.

Do you get back here often? It appears you live in the northern hemisphere now?

Scott Burke | 4 comments Good to hear, Mate. You'll be lucky to have any parts of your hide left unscorched by the end of this el nino summer! I'm glad the drop bears have taken a liking to you, they can be quite discerning in taste.
I'm currently working undercover in London for ASIO, shhh... Don't tell anyone!

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 206 comments Who? What? Where? I didn't hear that. I didn't hear ANYthing. Mum's the word. Which is a funny expression, come to think of it; using it here would be like saying "Mom's the word" in America. I'll have to try it some time. But your secret's safe. Wait, what secret? Who are you? Did someone hear something? I have no idea what just happened. It wasn't me. I didn't see or hear a thing, I swear! PLEASE DON'T SICK THE DINGOS ON ME!!!!!
